Once again, the Cedar Valley Conservation Club will host a 2026 Fall Trap League. Wednesdays will again be our league day, and the cost will be $175.00. All targets and shells plus trophies will be covered. There will be 1 practice and 5 competition days. If you are interested and have not seen the flier somewhere else, please contact me and I will send you a registration page.

Brayden, Chris, and Nathan are representing our area in the High School National Tournament. All three are great kids and we wish them all the luck in the world. Nathan shot a 50 straight and Brayden shot a 45 this morning. I haven't heard what Chris shot. Keep it up men!

I met up with Megan and Bella today for the opening ceremonies at the 4-H National Tournament. Bella made the Minnesota team in 22 rifle and Megan made it in muzzleloader. They shot practice rounds today and competition begins tomorrow.

Friday, we had the fun job of assembling shooting stands to use for our rifle and pistol disciplines. Our youth were given the task of reading blueprints, organizing the materials used, and assembling the materials into the correct places. They then had to mount metal target holders onto the bases. The last job was the toughest. Eat the ice cream. Believe it or not, very little arm twisting was required!

Mower County 4-H had five great young men and women representing us at the annual Shooters for Ho***rs Fundraiser for cancer research. They endured a very long wait and cold weather to take their turn on the line. Thanks so much all of you for putting up with your old coach and helping me out!! I'm looking forward to this year being another special one.

Below are the official results from the 2025 4-H State Tournament. Our athletes had an amazing tournament, as you will see below. Every one of them worked so hard all summer. Their dedication as individuals and as a team payed off. As one of their coaches, I was so proud of them for more than their scores. Their behavior and attitudes are beyond what I envisioned. They were a joy to watch, and they will all be great contributors to their communities. The awards they have earned will be given at Sundays banquet. They have earned every one of them.
