Coming from someone who has been passionate about fitness and exercise, for as long as I can remember, I have to admit: the drive doesn’t always come easy.
No matter your level of dedication or goals, the eventual “fitness slump” is practically inevitable. Even so, “the slump” isn’t necessarily a negative thing and it certainly doesn’t have to make or break your physical progress.
Here are some tips I personally use to encourage my clients and myself when needed:
☀️ Find an Accountability Partner. This can be a friend, family member or a fitness coach like me. Don't be surprised if they end up loving being your teammate!
☀️ Change It Up! When it's the same thing over and over eventually a workout can turn boring. So try something new! There are various workouts (ie. running, hiking, weight lifting, yoga, pilates, stretching, etc) that can be just as fun and rewarding.
☀️ Go outside! Being closer to nature and feeling more grounded can bring you a sense of peace you may have been craving. Go to your local park for a walk or run. Try doing so without any music and distractions and notice how your body feels. Get to know yourself better and see what works best for you!
☀️ Go shopping! This one is my personal favorite. Whether it's to start off my month on a positive note or rewarding myself for meeting a new goal, rewarding myself with a new outfit really changes my mood. If clothes isn't your thing then treat yourself to a new skincare product, book or video game! Whatever rewards suits you best and it can be something to look forward to.
Don't forget I'm here to help guide you throughout this journey. Feeling better physically and mentally as well so you can be the best version of yourself. To book a consultation with me for in-person or online training simply send me a DM and we can get started today! 📱

Hey you! Take a pause & take a deep breath. Drop your shoulders, relax your jaw, and ask yourself four questions.
1. How is my mind?
Mentally how are you doing? If you're doing great, that's awesome! If you're not, what can you do to feel better? Are you still enjoying your training or are you dreading having to workout? Is it time to switch it up and incorporate different workouts into your plan? Find something you do enjoy!
2. How does my body feel?
Train for the long term and take the necessary rest to recharge and get right back to it. Making sure you’re in tune with your body is important in staying healthy. Incorporate and prioritize stretching for optimal recovery. This will allow you to keep going without having to stop and slow down.
3. Am I seeing the results I want?
Have you set a fitness goal of what results you want to see? Is it rock hard abs, tone definition, or a smaller pant size? Sometimes it's easier to write your goals down to remember and avoid feeling discouraged.
4. Am I fueling my body the best way?
We all know what the healthy foods are and how important drinking water is. Take a moment to think back on what you've been putting in your body. Is it doing you any good? And if not, don't be hard on yourself. Sometimes we use food for comfort and at that moment, it's what we needed. Allow yourself to fall off the track. Just remember, what is important is to get back on track.
If you made it all the way to the end, thanks for taking some time for yourself. Your body thanks you too. Keep going! You're doing great 💕

Stick to the basics, they are basic for a reason, because they work!
Let's be real, squats, deadlifts, presses, pulls, you name it, can get boring! But that is where you grow. You grow in repetition and consistently.
Of course you can do variations of them all and use different equipment but the majority of your workouts will revolve around the same core movements. That is key!
Your goal and my goal is to get you to be better and stronger with every single one of those core movements so that you can get the best possible results.
Have fun with it! Play your music, workout with a friend or trainer, talk, laugh, whatever you need to do, to make your workouts fun! And stick to your program, stick to your routine and work through it.

Let's talk about engaging your core!
Keep in mind every movement you make, whether it’s squatting or sprinting, requires the use of your core muscles. When your core is switched on, your body becomes strong and stable, and this stability is vital for a safe and effective workout!
A strong core decreases the risk of injury, helps you maintain better posture and allows you to achieve a better form. Plus, the more you engage your core during a workout, the easier it’ll be for your body to locate, activate and train the right muscles for that particular exercise.
An engaged core will play a huge role in activating the right muscles, so that other muscles don’t end up over-compensating. It’s a win-win!
So the question is, are you engaging your core?
