We're just over here sharing apples and taking turns demonstrating the lay down until Biscuit gets it. 🫣

In all seriousness, today was the first time I've used treats in training. And it definitely brought his spark back! ❤️ I am teaching the lay down with no restraints. Not even holding a foot up. This is my first time using this method, and I am really excited!

Training horses is such a thrill. I love improving my own techniques and abilities to continually make it easier on my horses, and increase our scope of tricks and maneuvers.

Thank you, God, for these amazing animals, and the incredible things we get to do together. Especially for Biscuit, the most patient, silly, willing, thoughtful guy. ❤️

I had the honor of assisting with one of this young mare's very first rides today! I love helping young horses get a solid start. Her owner has done a wonderful job of preparing her for this moment, and I am sure they will enjoy many adventures together. ❤️

P.S. I didn't even have to get on! Just a few fresh ideas, and this owner did all the hard work herself. 😱

One day c**t starting clinic with Sam Wagler of Diamond S Performance Horses. We improved lunging, bridled for the FIRST time, got hips, softness and backing off the bit, saddled for the second time ever, did a little extra de-spooking practice, and then up I went! Just enough to sit for a second. That was plenty for one day!

Start a brand new, fast paced, high pressure competition sport together. 👏

This is the closest thing to an "action" shot that we got, but Buckles went to his first sorting today! He took it all in stride, stayed honest and willing, and improved despite my lack of experience sorting. I couldn't have asked for more!
