THROWBACK THURSDAY: When a Laser Went the Distance!

Throwing it back to the summer of 2015, when Shoreline Sailboats had the opportunity to be part of one epic sailing adventure.

Robert Suhay set out to break his own Guinness World Record for the longest singlehanded distance sailed in a dinghy by a male. To help make the attempt possible, Shoreline Sailboats provided Robert with a brand-new 2015 Laser XD.

On June 30, Robert launched from Morehead City, North Carolina, beginning an incredible solo journey up the coast.

Nearly four days later, after sailing around Cape Hatteras and continuing north, Robert arrived in Annapolis, Maryland, just after midnight on July 4th.

The result?

🏆 346.04 nautical miles
⛵️ Solo - Unassisted
📍 Morehead City, NC → Annapolis, MD
