Our MTB teams currently have to travel statewide to practice in places such as Flagstaff, Sedona and Goodyear. This would be a tremendous benefit for our Basis High School Mountain Bike Team and other local schools, to have one here in Peoria at Paloma Park. Vote at the link below and spread the word please!

These kids continue to amaze me this is the hardest trail we have ridden as a team 1st time for all of us on the long loop @ Estrella their 1st Blue/Black Diamond. I am proud of them for completing the ten mile distance with some hike a biking. This was a pre ride for the upcoming race. Although the kids did phenomenal at pre ride speeds they expressed hesitation at riding this course at race speed. We made a decision as a team not to race this course until their skills improve. I love the maturity and growth they exhibited when faced with this decision, I believe it is the correct one for our team safety 1st Fun always 😀 the pic is the Summit of the 1st big climb on the course.

The 1st Race of the Cactus Cup Jr Series is in the books (McDowell Mountain). The team's competitive riders in this race Kaden, Lee, and Aaliyah knocked off an average of 8 minutes off of their previous race time one year ago on this course. It is amazing to see how these kids have progressed throughout the year, as their Coach I am proud of everyone of them, great job Kids! The team's "Rocket Bunny" Aaliyah also placed 2nd place in her division, this gives the team a 2nd podium finish for the 2020 fall racing season to date. I would also like to thank our hosts for organizing the event so we could keep the kids on their bikes riding and competing with their friends in a fun & safe environment.

Shout out to our Local Bike Shop Road Runner Bikes Located at 67th & Happy Valley. We dropped off the bikes for some maintenance and sealant and they returned them to us immaculate and race ready the same day. Glad to see they are expanding the size of their shop. With their skills and customer service they will need the room.
