Our Dragons went to war this past weekend. Wrestling in an extremely tough section, Division I Section IV, we had two warriors claw their way through their brackets and qualify for the state championship!

Abraham Reina: 190 lbs- 4th place
Franklin Vigil: 120 lbs- 4th place

Congratulations to these two young men on this great accomplishment. Now they have the opportunity to make even more history as they compete in the state championship this Thursday at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. GO DRAGONS!🐉

2026 TUHSD CHAMPIONS

These young men have been putting in the work all season to get to this point. This was an entire team effort, we had young guys step up when called upon and they contributed greatly to getting their own wins where it mattered for the team. First of many to come for this team 🙌🏆

From an individual standpoint, we had 5 champions and 4 runner-ups:
Franklin Vigil: 120 lbs- 1st Place
Alejandro Juarez: 126 lbs- 2nd Place
Elijah Bohn: 138 lbs- 1st Place
Noah Shepard: 144 lbs- 1st Place
Aiden Garcia: 150 lbs- 2nd Place
Nathaniel Vargas: 157 lbs- 2nd Place
Christopher Lopez: 175 lbs- 2nd Place
Abraham Reina: 190 lbs- 1st Place
Kaleb Gbanlin: 285 lbs- 1st Place

A historic night for West Point! This isn’t the end goal though, we know there are bigger goals we need to accomplish. We will enjoy this win just a little bit longer though 💪🤼‍♂️

Came in with a beat up and smaller squad to the Brad Jones Invitational. Lots of tough competition and two big days of tough wrestling, but we were able to come out with two medalists:

Abraham Reina: 190 lbs- 6th Place
Kaleb Gbanlin: 285 lbs- 6th Place

Lots of reviewing to do. We didn’t do bad, but we can definitely better. Great job to those that competed this weekend. On to the next 💪🤼‍♂️

One more time. In the Dragon’s Den.

Time to send off our biggest group of seniors in this program’s history! Come out and support us in our only home dual of the season! JV will kick things off for us, and then we’ll begin with our senior night ceremony!

Let’s send off these seniors in the right way and give them the crowd they deserve! Come and support your Dragons 🐉 in a district battle, all are invited to attend!

A yearly tradition at this point. Taking advantage of what our city has to offer, doing hill sprints at the Tres Rios Wetlands and hiking up to the Gila and Salt River Meridian up Monument Hill. A great way to truly see everything great about this city.

Just a couple a kids from a school off the BLVD, trying to prove themselves every day and working hard to reach their goals 💪🤼‍♂️

This weekend we took some boys to compete to compete in the Husky Rumble. There were some tough teams out there today, our results:

Franklin Vigil- 2nd Place @120 lbs

Good job to everyone that competed this weekend

Not the results we were looking for overall as a team, think we left plenty on the table. We will take this as a reminder that we need to continue to work hard in order to stay competitive with everyone else. We will bounce back and get better 💪🤼‍♂️

Took the boys up on a trip up to the Peaks in Flagstaff. In the dual side of the tournament, we finished in 6th place. Ran into the injury bug up there and gave up a few forfeits, but the team fought through it to finish out the tournament!
On the individual side, we saw some great success from younger talent. They out on quite a show to finish off with some hardware to bring back down to Dodge City!

Franklin Vigil: 120 lbs- 2nd Place
Noah Licon: 126 lbs- 4th Place
Adrian Padilla: 138 lbs- 5th Place
Kevin Perez: 144 lbs- 3rd Place
Kaleb Gbanlin: 285 lbs- CHAMPION

Way to represent West Point and take a spot in the podium!
Still plenty to work on and continue to improve ourselves 💪🤼‍♂️

A strong start to the season, opening off with three dual wins! Some great performances from the younger dawgs! JV had a great night too! On to the next 💪🤼‍♂️
