A little BTS of our week!

While the parents gathered for a parent meeting, the girls made the most of their time together with coffee, a walk, and our first team dinner at Sarah’s! They also attended church together as a team for the first time this year! 🤍

Our girls are settling in, building relationships, and getting ready for what’s ahead. Meetings, Media Day, and soon… the court! 👀🏐

19 DAYS UNTIL OUR FIRST MATCH!

We’re getting closer by the day, and today we’re introducing another one of our newest Cougars! 💙🐾

Meet Victoria Miller, our freshman middle blocker!We’re so excited to welcome Victoria to APU and can’t wait to watch her begin her collegiate volleyball journey!

What was Victoria up to this summer?

I went to bass lake and Yosemite with my family for a week. We hiked, jet skied, and tubed. We also brought our dog, Oakley, who has never been at a lake before so it was entertaining to see her having so much fun in the water. I also took a trip to South Carolina to move my sister in to her new apartment. She plays Volleyball for the Citadel. It was beautiful there but very hot and humid.

And when we asked Victoria why she chose APU, here’s what she had to say:

“APU offered a small school with a close-knit community, a great volleyball team, and that’s exactly what I wanted in a college. I knew APU was special when everyone on the team hugged me and wanted to get to know me during my official visit. That kindness is what sealed the deal for me.”

We’re so happy that Victoria chose to call APU home! Get ready to see her on the court this season! 🔥🏐

20 DAYS UNTIL OUR FIRST MATCH!

We’ve hit the 20-day mark, and there’s another new Coug you need to meet!

Say hello to Allie Hertzler, our freshman setter! As she gets ready to begin her first collegiate season, we’re excited to have her bring her talent, energy, and personality to the team!

We caught up with Allie to hear all about her summer adventures and, of course, asked the big question…

Why did you choose APU? 👀

“This summer I have been enjoying downtime with friends and family. I have spent my time at the beach, hiking, trying new coffee places, as well as volunteering for VBS! I cannot wait to get to work this fall, let’s go Cougs!”

“I chose APU because of the God First mentality. I love getting the opportunity to compete and glorify God while doing so. The APU volleyball program clearly lived out this idea to me with good competition, meaningful friendships, hard work, and keeping Christ at the center of it all!”

A fresh face, a fresh start, and plenty of volleyball ahead! We can’t wait to see Allie take the court!

21 DAYS UNTIL OUR FIRST MATCH!

The countdown continues, and it’s time to introduce another one of our new faces!

Next up is freshman middle blocker, Elayna! We’re so excited to welcome her to APU and can’t wait to see her bring her energy to the court this season!

Here’s a little look at what Elayna was up to this summer:

“This summer I traveled with my family to Japan for two weeks, and got to see Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. I went to church camp and won camp champ! I also went to hawaii with my friends for our senior trip!”

We also asked Elayna, why did you choose APU? 👀

“I chose APU because after meeting the team, I fell in love with the campus, the girls, and the location. I admire the way Coach Chris leads his team, and I know I have a lot to learn from him. I really felt like the Lord led me to APU and I couldn’t be more excited!!”

We’re excited to watch Elayna start this new chapter and officially become a Coug! 🐾

We’re keeping the introductions rolling! 👀
Today, we’re excited to introduce another new Coug who will be joining us on the court this season!

Meet Mimi, our freshman setter! 🎉🏐 We’re so excited to welcome her to APU and can’t wait to see what she brings to the team in her first collegiate season!

Here’s what Mimi has been up to this summer:

“This summer, I traveled quite a bit and got to spend a lot of time with my family. I went to DisneyWorld in Florida, San Diego for my cousin’s soccer tournament, and went to a few Kpop concerts. I’ve been enjoying the time with my family and getting ready for the next chapter of my life.”

Of course, we had to ask Mimi… why did you choose APU? 👀

“I chose APU because I knew it can help me grow in faith and as a person. I was naturally drawn to the beautiful campus and culture!”

A new season, a new opportunity, and a new Coug to cheer on! 🐾 We can’t wait to see Mimi in action!

We’re officially getting closer, and today it’s time to meet another one of our newest Coug! 👀

Introducing Taylor, our freshman opposite! 🎉🏐 We’re excited to have her join the team and can’t wait to see her step onto the court in her first collegiate season!

Here’s a little glimpse into what Taylor has been up to this summer: ☀️✨

“This summer I went on a cruise to the Caribbean with my family. We also went Lake Havasu with some close friends.”

And we had to ask Taylor… why did you choose APU? 👀

“I chose APU because of the sense of community I felt when I visited and also to grow closer in my relationship to God.”

We can’t wait to watch Taylor begin this next chapter and see all that she brings to the team! 🐾

And now the countdown gets even more exciting… it’s time to meet our new players! 👀

First up is our junior transfer setter, Hunter! We’re so excited to give her a proper welcome and introduction as she transferred in the spring season!

This is what Hunter was up to this summer:

“I got to travel in Portugal & France, had NIL photoshoots, and spent time at home in SF coaching volleyball and being with family!”

We all asked Hunter, why did you choose APU?

“I chose APU because of how kind and welcoming everyone has been, especially the girls! It was amazing getting to know the people and the campus over the offseason, and I’m excited to be back soon!”

A new face, a new chapter, and a whole lot to look forward to!

THE COUNTDOWN CONTINUES… 25 DAYS!

We’re officially at 25 days until our first match, and today it’s all about Abby, Riley & Lilly! 🩷

We’re taking a little peek at how these three have been spending their summer and all the fun they’ve been getting up to! ☀️🌸

What Abby’s been up to:

This summer I have had a blast traveling! At the beginning of summer I went on a trip to the east coast visiting places like New York, Washington DC, and Boston. I also went to Indiana, Texas and Arizona. Other than traveling, I have just been hanging out and enjoying my new pool. I can’t wait to get back in the gym with my favorite people. Let’s go cougs!

What Riley has been up to:

Hey Cougs! I spent my summer traveling on a cruise ship, to the lake, and to 4 different states. I also got to go to a camp retreat with my church, some Angels games, to lots of concerts, and I spent time with my friends! I can’t wait to be back in the gym competing!

What Lilly been up to:

This summer I got to go on my price is trip to curaçao! I also got to coach volleyball in Philippines and San Francisco and visit Taiwan. It was so impactful to be in the Philippines again. And I got to see family in Oregon and Arizona!

It won’t be long now until we’re making new memories together — 25 days and counting! 🎉⏳

26 DAYS TO GO!

The countdown is flying by, and today we’re shining the spotlight on three of our amazing returners — Mia, Mylah & Jenelle!

We’ve been checking in to see how they’ve been spending their summer, from fun adventures to making memories along the way. ☀️✨

What Mia’s been up to:

I spent my summer working as a caregiver and was awarded with Employee of the month in May. My baby nephew was also born this summer, so I’ve been spending a lot of quality time with him and my family. I’ve also enjoyed being able to go to the beach with friends.

What Mylah has been up to:

This summer I was able to spend my break at Hume Lake. While being a part of their staff, I got to spend time camping and exploring in Kings Canyon. I’m so grateful to have met so many great people and to have been a part of the ministry that took place at the lake. I cannot wait to be back on the court soon though!

What Jenelle has been up to:

This summer I played lots of beach volleyball and in a women’s volleyball league. I also helped my mom out with her restaurant! My favorite part about this summer was hanging out with family and friends, especially those who came to visit from outside the country!

Summer may be coming to an end, but the excitement is just beginning… because Mia, Mylah & Jenelle will be back before we know it! 🥳

DAY 27 OF THE COUNTDOWN!

We’re officially down to 27 days until our returners are back on the court playing their first match!

Today, we’re catching up with Sarah, Jackie & Jacey to see what they’ve been up to this summer! ☀️✨

Sarah’s summer update:

“This summer, I got to serve on a medical mission trip in Ecuador, which was so life-changing!! I was also able to visit my roommates in Washington, spend a lot of time with family and friends, and finish phlebotomy school. So excited to be back with my girls one last time!”

Jackie’s summer update:

“This summer I spent time at the beach, lifting, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends!! I also had the opportunity to work with some of my friends at a Junior Olympic water polo tournament, which was so fun. I also got to watch one of my good friends get engaged!! It was such a beautiful moment.”

Jacey’s summer update:

“This summer I got to try new foods, go on a family vacation, work for my mom’s restaurant, game nights, and play lots of beach volleyball!! I feel like it flew by so fast but I’m  so grateful for time spent with family and friends that I haven’t seen in a while!”

They’ve been making the most of their summer, creating memories, having fun, and enjoying some well-deserved time away — but we’re definitely ready to have them back!

The countdown is getting closer… just 27 days to go! ⏰💫
