Hanging on by a Thread
“If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.” — Matthew 9:21
Have you ever found yourself hanging on by a thread?
Maybe you're weary from the fight. Maybe you've been waiting so long for an answer that your faith feels tired. Maybe you're carrying a burden that no one else can see, and you're barely holding on.
If you're going to hang on by a thread, make sure it's the hem of Jesus' garment. ❤️
The woman in Matthew 9 had suffered for years. She didn't need a long conversation with Jesus. She believed that one touch was enough. She reached through the crowd, touched the hem of His garment, and everything changed.
Sometimes, like a horse facing an obstacle on the trail, we stop because we don't know what is on the other side. We may feel afraid, uncertain, and exhausted. But a good rider learns to trust the one holding the reins.
And that's what Jesus asks us to do.
To the weary—take heart.�To the ones waiting—keep believing.�To the ones barely holding on—don't let go of Jesus.�To the ones who feel like their strength is gone—reach for the hem of His garment.
You may not have the strength for a gallop today. Maybe all you can do is take one more step down the trail. That's okay.
The God who carries us through the hard places is still in the saddle.
In the rodeo arena, you don't always get to choose the ride. Sometimes you get thrown, sometimes you get bruised, and sometimes you wonder how you'll get back on. But our faith isn't measured by whether we never fall—it is measured by where we turn when we do.
Turn toward Jesus.
Because one touch from Jesus can change everything. Let go of the reins and let God REIGN in your life.

Jesus, for everyone who is weary, waiting, hurting, or barely holding on today, remind them that they are not alone. Give them the faith to reach for You even when they don't understand the trail ahead. When their strength is gone, carry them. When they are afraid, give them peace. When they feel like they are hanging by a thread, let that thread be connected to You. Help us trust You with the reins and follow You one step at a time. In Jesus' name, Amen.
