Just got my hands on this game-changing piece of waveski gear. The magnetic release system is incredibly well thought out—secure when you need it, yet designed to release quickly when it matters most. 🧲🏄
One feature I really appreciate is that it comes with a pre-drilled hole for adding an emergency pull toggle (which you see on mine). I added one to mine for winter surfing. ❄️🌊 It's a great option if you're wearing 3–5mm gloves or mittens, or if you simply want an extra layer of safety.

Reflecting on a killer time in Hawaii as the snow melts here in New York. A few of us are talking about logistics and how to put a North Shore Oahu trip together next January. More to be revealed…🌴😎🛶🏄♂️

Oahu: Short on time, long on waves. 🌊
Had an absolute blast ripping around the North Shore and Waikiki. If you're looking to surf, waveski, or surf kayak, do yourself a favor and hit up John at Go Bananas Water Sports in Waikiki. He’s got the hookup—one of the only spots with Cobra Strikes, universal racks, and Werner one-piece paddles. (Pro tip: I brought my own back band and straps for that custom fit).
The North Shore Mission: It’s about an hour drive from Waikiki to Hale'iwa. Pro tip: get there before 10:00 AM if you want a super close parking spot! It definitely gets busier on the weekends when the locals head out.
The Highlights:
* Hale’iwa: This town has everything—shops, killer restaurants, and great rentals. We grabbed longboards at Hale’iwa Surf Shop right across the street from the break. The lefts were killer and the paddle back out was bone-dry.
* North Shore Beach Boyz: My buddy took a lesson with Kelani Chapman’s crew. Seriously great company if you’re looking to level up. They surf at Pua’ena Point.
* Pua’ena Point: My go-to this trip. It’s a melting pot of surf schools and pros, but the outside reef rights were the move. Fun zig-zagging sections that connect all the way to the inside—plus, it dumps you right back in the channel.
Bummed I missed the swell at Chun’s and Jocko’s, but Pua’ena was the perfect vibe for everyone from pros to families. Already planning the return trip. Who’s coming? 🤙��PS. I just got a snorkel mouthpiece GoPro mount and unfortunaltey I didn’t have time to test it out. So the videos didn’t come out too good (mostly my lap). I think I got it dialed in for future videos so stay tuned.

Aloha! 🤙🏼 We’re on Oahu for 4 days and Cynthia is at work conferences all day. Hmm…what am I gonna do. 😂. Big thanks to John at Go Bananas Watersports for renting me the Cobra Kayaks Strike. Back to the North Shore today and tomorrow for more. No time to edit videos-there’s waves everywhere!
