As we head into the new year, the California Highway Patrol highlights the latest public safety laws passed and signed by Governor Gavin Newsom. Unless otherwise noted, the laws referenced below take effect January 1, 2026.

The holiday spirit of giving continues! Join the Corvettes of Bakersfield at Houchin Community Blood Bank at Bolthouse Dr., this Saturday, 12/13/2025, from 9am-1pm. Those who donate will get not one, but TWO tickets to CALM's holiday lights.

Also, if you missed out on donating toys at the Outlawz Bakersfield CC & Motor City's Toy Drive benefiting KMC's Pediatrics, they will also be accepting those toy donations on site as well.
