This Saturday, June 7, shall see me announcing and providing sound reinforcement for the annual Paul Anderson ("Andy Noise") Memorial 5&10k Fun Run in my hometown of Bakersfield, CA. Paul was a dynamic individual and would be pleased that scholarships are being funded by proceeds from this event. 🙂

Although having relocated to the Pacific Northwest some six years ago, I still make frequent trips to California to provide services for events in my hometown of Bakersfield. For this "1,000 Flags" event, we provided a subwoofer-supported six speaker system - with speakers elevated to 11' - to provide wide coverage in a sprawling city park. In addition, we provided sound for a Saturday evening concert on a separate stage, as well as a remote system for a Sunday morning fun run.
I love that James Taylor's "Wild Mountain Thyme" can be heard playing over my sound system in the video!
A well-organized and brilliantly executed Memorial Day weekend event by the Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary!

I've been perfecting my skill in providing sound reinforcement for large public gatherings. I used this system at two recent protest events at Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver, Washington.
A set a pair of QSC K-12 speakers, mounted on 9' high tripods, facing straight ahead at stage-right and stage-left. Alongside them, a pair of QSC K-10s, also elevated to 9' and angled slightly to the side and at tilted at a downward 6.5-degree angle. At stage-center, a QSC KW-181 subwoofer.
The first event was fine, but the second event saw a crowd of some 3,000 people! For the May Day event there, I shall group together three speakers at each side, angled in an arc, and elevated to 11' high. 🙂

Yes, we CAN crowd a lot of lights and sound into a fairly compact area!
