Sinister Motorsports is proud to announce that Pete Stefanski will be behind the wheel of one of our #28 Prostocks for the Hondo Classic at Fonda Speedway on July 26th. After an early weekend wreck at Charlotte in October sidelined Pete and his #2 he took the wheel of the 28 and piloted it to a 4th place finish. We canโt wait to have Peteโs experience behind the wheel for a race that is so important to us and to honor one of the best racers we have ever met. Hondo was a class act.

** SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT**
Sinister Motorports is proud to announce we have added another driver to the team for the remainder of the 2024 season. Jimmy Duncan will be piloting the Sinister Motorsports #771 JACR chassis Dirtcar Prostock for the team. We are currently doing final preparations to the car for Jimmy and expect him to be ready to turn laps on Friday August 30th at Albany-Saratoga Speedway. He will be competing for the team in the 3rd annual Autism Awareness race on Sept. 6th, and a possible trip to the Dirt track at Charolette in November.
This is not the first time that a Duncan has driven for Sinister Motorsports team owner Phil DeFiglio. Jimmys brother Jason Drove Phils 4 cyl to a number of feature wins at multiple tracks and a season championship at Albany-Saratoga Speedway some years ago. Both families look forward to joining together for what hopes to be a successful partnership.

The 2023 season has officially come to an end. There was a lot of ups and downs this year and we learned as much if not more this year than we did last year. The 2023 season saw the team tackle the Dirt tour and run tracks some of us have never seen. The Sinister Motorsports team ended their season at America's Home for Racing, the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The week in Charlotte had its ups and downs for all of us that went. On track Sinister Motorsports saw a lot of success lead by the performance of the 04 of Jaxson Ryan. Jaxson switch from leaf springs to Coils in the off season and by midseason was starting to find his groove. He ended the season with strong finishes at our home track Albany-Saratoga Speedway before heading. In Charlotte Jaxson piloted the 04 to top 10 finishes in all the events of the weekend. After qualifying 14th for the feature on Thursday night Jaxson would drive through traffic like a veteran and finish 4th. During heat race qualifying on Friday he would finish 3rd locking him into the show for Saturday Short track Championship feature. On Saturday Jaxson would float around the top 5 the entire race to finish 6th. The entire team is proud of the progress that Jaxson has made.
The 28 of Phil DeFiglio would debut a new car in Charlotte after an unfortunate incident the final night of racing at Albany-Saratoga Speedway would put the old 28 out of commission. The new car would bring Phil into a coil spring rear suspension design for the first time in his racing career. Out of the box the 28 showed speed and would post 6th fastest in the first warm up session out of the 30 cars that showed for the event. During the time trail session the 28 would lose some speed but still qualified for the Thursday feature. Starting 16th just behind his team car the 28 would follow the 04 through traffic at one point getting up to the 7th position. a late race spin would ruin that good run and result in a 14th place finish. A communication error during Friday heat races would sideline Phil for the day and he would be forced to start the Saturday feature 28th out of the 31 cars entered. The feature would be a caution filled mess with the division only getting 12 of the scheduled 25 laps complete do to time restrictions. Phil would take advantage of the attrition moving up to 11th before again a late race spin would have him finish in 15th. It was not the weekend Phil had hoped for, but the entire team showed they can be competitive. On a side note, During the drivers meeting on Saturday DIRT would award a couple of specialty awards. Phil would receive the Sportman of the year award for 2023 highlighting his weekend.
We look forward to the offseason break and to 2024. Initial plans are to run Albany-Saratoga Speedway full time again and again take on the Dirt Series.
We would like to thank all that helped us in 2023.
The Boghosian family for spending late nights and weekends at the tracks and garage making sure cars were ready for competition. And all of our sponsors who make this all happen.
