This is your LAST CHANCE to sign up for the High School Prep Academy four-week program for 12U, 13U, and 14U.

A reminder that during the month of October teams can create a custom High School Prep Academy class. There needs to be a minimum of 9 players. These classes are available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights with time slots of 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.. Each class is 60 minutes.

Current Maryville University Assistant Coach and former Great Britain National Team player, Ivan Quackenbush will be teaching catching and hitting at Ballwin and Chesterfield the remainder of the fall and into the winter.

- Sunday: Ballwin 10am-3pm
- Monday: Chesterfield 7:00pm-9:00pm
- Wednesday: Ballwin 6:00pm-9:00pm

With a diverse background in both playing and coaching, He brings a wealth of experience to the baseball instruction arena. During his playing career, he proudly represented the Great Britain National Team and competed professionally in the Dutch Pro League. He honed his skills at Ottawa Arizona, STL CC, and Quincy University.

Transitioning into coaching, he's had the privilege of contributing to the success of teams at Maryville University and Missouri State University. He is currently coaching with Maryville University for his second stint in the local Division 2 program. Notable highlights from his coaching career include leading an offense that dominated the Prospect League with the highest home run count and the lowest ground ball rate. Additionally, his expertise has cultivated top-notch catchers with the best receiving percentages in the competitive Division 1 Missouri Valley Conference.

Get people to turn their heads in 2024 by arming yourself with high school baseball knowledge before high school.

Are you a 12U, 13U, or 14U player and wondering how to separate yourself from your competition in high school? Well, high school coaches can spot a knowledgeable player a mile away. It's how they move and where they move on the field. The players who know what they're doing automatically move to the correct spots, no matter the play. When high school coach sees this, they go crazy for this player!

How do players get this way? They have been exposed to a high-level brand of baseball before they reached that level. They do this in various ways. They either play up in an older age group, have an older sibling, or have an experienced instructor.

This October, we want to bring that instructor to your team. The former University of Missouri Assistant coach, Evan Pratte, wants to teach your players how to approach the game with confidence, class, and professionalism.

Here are some of the questions he will answer during the 4 weeks:

1. Most players need to learn how to take a proper lead. Do you hold your arm out or down? Where are your feet placed? How many steps off are you taking? Are you inside the line or outside it? What are your eyes doing as you steal?

2. Most players need to figure out where to position themselves on defense. Do you know where to stand with one out with a runner on second and your up by 5? What if it's a tie-ball game? What if the runner is on first and third? What's your pre-pitch routine?

3. Most players need to learn how to tag a runner. Do you swipe? Do you wait for the runner? Where are you standing? How do you sell the tag to the umpire?
