Miss you Sam.
SFC Samuel Hairston, KIA 8/12/2014.
Had the absolute pleasure and honor of getting to know and train Sam while working on Ft Bragg.
SFC Hairston was a paratrooper and platoon sergeant with A Company, 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division of Ft Bragg.
Sam also was a four-year letterman at the University of Houston while on a football scholarship from 1997 to 2000, where he played LB and DE and graduated with a degree in economics.
He was fatally wounded in Ghazni, Afghanistan, when his unit came under enemy small-arms fire while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Rest easy brother.
