I’ve been keeping a secret, and it’s finally time to share!
Many of you know I received a scholarship through the Workforce Development program in Anne Arundel County to complete my Community Health Worker certification… and I’m so excited to say—I graduated!
But that’s not all. Back in January, I applied to the University of Massachusetts Global and I’ve officially enrolled! I’ll be starting classes in May to pursue my Bachelor of Social Work, Class of 2029—and I was also awarded a scholarship toward my tuition.
I truly couldn’t have done this without the support of my family, friends, and my incredible supervisor at MedStar who believed in me from the very beginning and encouraged me to go for it.
Just a reminder: amazing things can happen when you put in the work and surround yourself with people who believe in you.💙

As a community health advocate, I make sure my patients always have access to a list of local food pantries in their zip code.
This week, two of my patients were facing significant barriers getting to the food distribution sites. So, I made it a priority to stop by a Thanksgiving turkey giveaway and pick up two turkeys, two boxes with 7 sides each, and two pumpkin pies for their families—then delivered everything myself. Their gratitude was overwhelming, and their sincerity truly brought me to tears.
I don’t see it as anything extraordinary—just doing what I can to make sure they’re cared for during such a difficult transition in their lives.

Advocating for others and teaching self-advocacy—it’s more than a job, it’s a way to make a real difference every day.
I work 40 hours a week as a community health advocate on the Medstar HEART team, where I support my patients by connecting them to resources, coordinating care, and ensuring their voices are heard.
Outside of that, as a lifestyle coach, I empower individuals to advocate for themselves and live their best lives to the fullest.
Both roles are incredibly rewarding and allow me to make a meaningful impact every day.
