We are excited to invite you to the upcoming Ask the Expert Webinar Series TOMORROW June 10th, featuring a special panel discussion on the importance of community involvement in clinical trials.

This engaging conversation will feature Dr. Lucile Adams-Campbell, a nationally recognized cancer epidemiologist and health disparities researcher, alongside community leaders Ify Nwabukwu, MSN and Laura A. Logie, PhD who will share valuable perspectives from the communities they serve.
Together, our panelists will discuss:
• Why community participation in clinical trials is essential to advancing cancer prevention, treatment, and outcomes.
• The importance of diverse representation in clinical research.
• Common barriers and challenges underserved populations face when learning about, accessing, and participating in clinical trials.
• Strategies for building trust, increasing awareness, and improving access to research opportunities within our communities.

Dr. Adams-Campbell has dedicated more than three decades to addressing cancer disparities among minority and underserved populations. Her work has focused on cancer prevention and control, clinical trial participation, and behavioral interventions among Black/African American communities. She currently serves as Principal Investigator of the National Capital Area Minority/Underserved NCI Community Oncology Research Program and the Howard-Georgetown Collaborative Partnership in Cancer Research. She has also contributed to major epidemiological studies, including the Women's Health Initiative and the Black Women's Health Study.

Representing the community perspective, Ms. Nwabukwu (founder of African Women's Cancer Awareness Association) and Dr. Logie (Director of Research at Nueva Vida) will share their experiences working with individuals and families affected by cancer, highlighting the challenges many underserved populations encounter when seeking information about clinical trials and navigating opportunities to participate in research.
