WELCOME TO THE RHYTHM: COACH KAYEL LOCKE
Basketball isn’t something Coach Kayel Locke simply learned. It’s part of his DNA.
A Baltimore native and product of McDonogh School, Locke grew up in one of Baltimore’s true basketball families. His parents, Kyle and Vanessa Locke, both played collegiately at Coppin State and helped instill the game in a family that would go on to produce multiple high-level basketball players.
Kayel carved out his own impressive path. After starring at McDonogh, he became one of the most productive players in UNC Greensboro history, finishing his career with 1,522 points and 652 rebounds. From there, basketball took him around the world as a professional, including stops throughout Europe, Mexico and the Philippines—and a Dutch League championship.
Now, he’s bringing all of that experience home.
The Baltimore Rhythm is proud to welcome Kayel Locke as Assistant Coach, joining Head Coach Albert Holley as we continue building the next chapter of professional basketball in Baltimore.
Coach Locke brings something especially valuable to our players: he’s lived the journey. From Baltimore gyms, to Division I basketball, to nearly a decade in the professional game, he understands what it takes to develop, compete, adapt and win.
Baltimore raised him. Basketball shaped him. Now he’s helping lead the Rhythm.
