A recap of what we went over this past tuesday.
First we roughly established the position of half gaurd and then the importance of the 2-on-1 grip with
both hands on the far arm. From there we went over a submission (kimura) and a sweep (hip bump) followed
by sparring games/drill based on keeping control of the same arm starting with that grip and either finishing the
opponent or moving them around.
Join us on tuesdays and sundays for technique followed by open sparring, dm us if interested.

We had a great tournament last Saturday!
We had 5 divisions counting the absolute no-gi with different winners in each bracket.

We had a great turnout and can't wait to do it again!
Posting short recaps of our lessons when we go over them for a bit so curious people can get an idea of what we do sometimes, or you can get a refresher.
This Tuesday we focused on framing with a straight or bent arm along the center line of the upper body. Framing on either the top of the head, middle of the collarbones, solar plexus, and slightly below the belly button. From there we worked on moving the opponent around with the frames and progressed to either initiating strikes or holds similar to the clinch or takedowns with some sparring based on this mixed in. This is a mix of striking and grappling and applicable in most combat sports. Also note when going for the lower areas as to not compromise the frame, you should lower your level enough to still have a straight angle with your arm.

Alright yall 1 day left until the competition, with a surprising amount of interest in catch wrestling! We have 3 muay thai matches happening on the day as well and plan to start live streaming the event at 12 starting with judo.
We also have ✨️ medals ✨️ now and should have them in our competitions going forward!
If you want to come in person hit us up. Also for anyone wanting to come in and train, we still have regular training the day after.
