Horses and Homeschoolers - photo drop!! 🐴

We learned about…

How to read a horse’s body language!

How to keep your body safe while moving around horses by knowing the horse’s “blind spots”.

The grooming tools and how to use them!

Leading - which side to stand on (and why!), how the horses mirror the leaders body language. How to get your horse (or pony) to walk, trot, halt (stop), and participate in obstacles!

They even got to braid manes and decorate the mini horses & ponies 🥰

What a great morning! Can’t wait to see you all again next week!

When I asked what their favorite part was Maddy said EVERYTHING!! And Lacey said the obstacles!

Well done ladies! 🐴💗

We don’t just offer families another activity.

We get to teach students life skills.

So that our kids can grow up to be assertive when they need to be. And empathetic when it counts.

So that our kids learn how set boundaries and respect boundaries.

So that our kids learn how to read body language and also verbalize what they notice.

And the more I think about it - horses are teaching us adults the same thing.

I usually say…
Come for the horses, stay for the magic.

But this time I’m signing off with this -
Come for the horses, stay for the lessons. ✨
