Banning Parks & Recreation is gearing up for another awesome Youth Basketball season, and we’re looking for energetic, positive, community-minded volunteer coaches to help us make this year unforgettable!

If you love basketball, love working with kids, or just want to give back in a fun and meaningful way — this is your chance to be part of something BIG!

No coaching experience is required. Just bring your enthusiasm, your commitment, and your willingness to help our young athletes grow, learn, and have a blast on the court.

Coaches get FREE registration reimbursement for one player, the chance to meet new people, build lasting connections, and help shape the future of youth sports in our community.

We’ve got a great group of kids ages 5–13 who can’t wait to learn from awesome role models — and we can’t do it without YOU!

Get ready, Banning!
Youth Winter Basketball League registration opens today, September 21, 2026.

Whether a player is just learning the game or already sinking shots, this co-ed league for K–8th graders is the perfect way to build skills, make friends, and have a blast on the court.

The cost is $60, and it includes a jersey, participation award, and photos!

Important Dates You Won’t Want to Miss:
• Assessment Day: Saturday, December 5
• League Starts: Saturday, December 19
• Mandatory Meeting (Coaches/Referees/Staff): Thursday, December 10 — parents welcome to attend!

With sessions at the Banning Community Center (K–2) and Nicolet Middle School (Grades 3–8), we’re gearing up for a fun-filled season packed with energy, excitement, and community pride.

Register by Friday, November 27 to secure a spot — late registrations may be waitlisted.

Ready to get your little ones active this fall? City of Banning Parks & Recreation is launching Smart Start Sports 2026—the perfect entry-level program to introduce young athletes to basketball, soccer, and T-ball in a fun, supportive environment!

Program Highlights
Ages: 3–4 years old
Cost: $40 per participant
Duration: 6-week program (September 26 – October 31)
Schedule: Saturdays | Choice of 10:30 AM or 11:30 AM sessions
Sports Included: Basketball, Soccer, and T-Ball
