Let’s face it guys, Otter Cliffs can be complicated to set up. With anchors flat to the ground and far back from the edge, the ocean below you… the usual toolkit doesn’t work here. We’ve seen some interesting attempts to apply it though, and we’re not judging but…. let’s just say survival isn’t the only measure of success.

From eastern Maine, to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, to the limestone of Kalymnos, to the Troll Peninsula of Iceland, to the desert of Red Rocks, we sure do guide a lot of places!

Some particular dates we have coming up are a Kalymnos sport climbing trip October 14-25th and we have Red Rocks private guiding available November 9th - 19th.

We’re offering a Kalymnos trip October 18-25th!

Kalymnos is an ideal destination for climbers with a variety of experience levels and goals.
With a maximum 4:1 climber-to-guide ratio, we can create smaller groups based on each climber’s experience, confidence, and objectives. Some participants may concentrate on top-roping and building comfort on outdoor rock, while others may work on leading, improving their limestone technique, or simply getting in as many quality routes as possible.
To get the most out of the week, we recommend arriving with the ability to top-rope around 5.9 indoors. This provides a solid foundation for enjoying a full week of climbing and making meaningful progress on the island.

David booked 3 full days with us over the course of his week long trip to Acadia! He wanted to learn the skills necessary to be a competent outdoor climber, and climb a lot of cool routes in the process. We would say he did a lot of both!
Day one he spent the day at Otter learning to build gear anchors and climbing on them, for a full 14 pitches at Otter! Day two started with sport climbing skills and lead fall practice at Enoch Cirque, with an afternoon romp and introduction to multi pitch skills on Story of O at the South Wall!
Day 3 was spent at Central Slabs and South Wall, where he crushed his first trad leads, and swung leads with his guide up Precipice Ledges 5.4!

The sun is back out and it sure is nice! Visiting the park this September? Come enhance your experience with guided rock climbing by the ocean or a guided day hike in the park! Many folks say it’s the best part of their vacation.

No experience is necessary, but we can always accommodate people with more experience with a more challenging adventure if desired. Half day guided climbing and hiking is available as a 4 hour session in the morning or the afternoon. Full day sessions are a full 7 hours! Make sure you book those ahead of time so we have guides available.

All of our guides are at least AMGA SPIs and Wilderness First Responders. But unlike many guide services in Maine, the majority of our guides are at least Apprentice Rock Guides or higher, making us the most highly trained guide service in Maine.
