Navigate Your Homebuying Journey Like a Pro
Boat and navigation locks offer a powerful lesson: progress does not always happen all at once. Sometimes, you must move through the process one carefully managed step at a time.
The same is true in mortgage and real estate:
🔹 Prepare before entering the next stage
🔹 Follow expert guidance
🔹 Stay patient while conditions adjust
🔹 Keep moving toward your destination
One of the biggest homebuying myths is that every transaction should move quickly and effortlessly. The truth? Good preparation, clear communication, and the right strategy can help you navigate challenges with confidence.
Mortgage tips: Know your numbers, organize your documents early, and work with a loan officer who can help guide you through every step.
Your dream home may be the destination, but a well-planned journey helps you get there.

Planning is where it's at....especially if long term investment strategy is your goal! Make sure you're working with someone who will help you for life, not just the transaction!
Are Your Real Estate Beliefs Outdated?
Adam Grant’s Think Again reminds us that growth often starts when we’re willing to question what we “know.”
That applies to mortgage and real estate, too.
Many buyers still hold onto old myths like:
“Rates have to be perfect before I buy.”
“I need 20% down.”
“Renting is always safer.”
“I should wait until the market feels comfortable.”
But sometimes, comfort keeps us stuck.
The smartest move is not assuming the old rules still apply. It’s getting updated information, asking better questions, and building a strategy around today’s market.
Tip: Before you make a real estate decision based on something you heard years ago, let’s review what is possible now.

A Bipartisan Housing Bill Is Moving Forward. What Could It Mean for Homebuyers?
Housing affordability has become one of the most important financial issues facing American families. Limited inventory, elevated construction costs, restrictive zoning rules, and higher monthly mortgage payments have made the path to homeownership more challenging in many communities.

What worked for your parents or your "Uncle Fred", may not work for you! That's why it's SO important to talk to a lender who understands YOUR market!
Are Housing Market Myths Keeping Buyers on the Sidelines?
For years, the real estate conversation has centered around one major idea: there are not enough homes. That has been true in many markets.

SO TRUE!!
Local experience matters. Online lenders can quote rates, but they don’t know the people, the market, or how to navigate the bumps when a deal gets messy. That’s where a local loan officer makes the difference.

This is a very important concept that many families are facing today!
Is Multigenerational Living the Next Smart Real Estate Move?
For many families, the idea of “everyone under one roof” is no longer just a tradition. It is becoming a practical, thoughtful, and strategic housing choice.

This Independence Day, I keep coming back to what freedom really means for the people I work with.
In divorce, freedom begins with an informed decision. Before the settlement is signed, while there is still time to plan, you deserve to understand what your home and your financial future can truly support.
That is the work Lisa Severseike does as a Certified Divorce Lending Professional. She helps you see your real options early because a legal option is not always a lending option, and that difference can shape your life for years.
If you or someone you know is facing these decisions this summer, let's talk before the terms are set, not after.
Happy Fourth of July!

Happy 4th of July America!!!
Stars, Stripes, and a Cooling Jobs Market
As we head into the July 4th holiday, we are not just celebrating Independence Day. This year, we are also celebrating 250 years since our nation's founding. That is a big milestone and a good reminder that homeownership has long been part of the American story. Fireworks, cookouts, parades, and mortgage rates. What could be more festive?
On the economic front, June’s jobs report showed that the labor market is slowing. The economy added 57,000 jobs, which was below expectations, and prior months were revised lower. The unemployment rate fell to 4.2 percent, but part of that was due to fewer people being counted in the labor force.
So, what does that mean for housing?
A softer job market can sometimes help take pressure off interest rates, because it gives the Federal Reserve more reason to be patient. At the same time, inflation is still above the Federal Reserve’s 2 percent goal, so we should not expect policymakers to declare victory too early. In plain English: the market is watching every new data point like a realtor watching a new listing hit the market.
For buyers, the message is still the same: be prepared, know your numbers, and do not assume that waiting will automatically create a better opportunity. For sellers, serious buyers are still out there, but affordability matters. Pricing, presentation, and strategy are still doing the heavy lifting.
Our office will be closed Friday, July 3rd, in observance of Independence Day. We hope you enjoy a safe and meaningful holiday weekend with family, friends, and maybe one hot dog too many.
Happy 250th birthday, America!
