Last night, my youngest son, Owen, aka “The Big O", graduated 8th grade from St. Joseph School.
It’s hard to put into words what this milestone feels like. Proud doesn’t seem big enough. Emotional doesn’t quite cover it either. Watching my last baby walk up those St.Joe steps was awesome , surreal, and honestly a little heartbreaking all at once.
Owen has decided to begin his next chapter at Frisco High School in Frisco, Texas where his dad lives. While my heart already aches knowing how much I’ll miss him, I’m also incredibly excited for him. He’s stepping into a whole new adventure full of opportunities, growth, experiences, and memories waiting to be made.
Being his mom has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. From my little boy with the cheesiest grin to “Big O” personality, he’s kept us laughing, shaking our heads, challenged us, and filled this house with life. I know he’s going to do amazing things.
So today I’m holding two truths at the same time...
I am so excited for his future… and I am going to miss him terribly.
Go thrive, Owen. I’ll always be cheering for you, no matter how many miles away you are. ❤️ .brewer .7
