One of the best high school strength coaches in the country, , was recently interviewed on , and he had some really kind things to say about me and the work we’ve been able to do over the years.
Coach Garrett and I have worked together on a number of special strength projects, and I really appreciate him recognizing the work we’ve done to help people become the very best and strongest versions of themselves.
I traveled to for many years during my collegiate and competitive training days, and I learned a tremendous amount during that time. I stayed in my own lane when it came to certain aspects of training and competing, but I took away a ton from being around so many great lifters and coaches.
Those 10 years of training at Westside, along with staying in contact with Louie Simmons up until his passing, had a huge impact on how I learned to train myself, coach others, and work with athletes from all different sports and backgrounds.
I also brought to Westside to train about two months before Louie passed. He was really excited about her strength level and what we were able to accomplish with her. Louie was always amazed by the progress I was able to make as a lifter, and later on, the progress I was making as a coach.
A lot of people have helped pave the way for what we do at today. Our training methods didn’t just come from one person or one place. They have evolved over many years through experience, competition, coaching, and most importantly, working with great athletes.
A few of the lifters who have played a big role in that process:

…and many, many more.
I’m thankful for everyone I’ve had the opportunity to learn from, train with, coach, and work alongside over the years.
Always learning. Always evolving. Always trying to get better.
