New Jersey’s long war on ordinary rifles and standard mags just ran into a wall at the Third Circuit. In a 10–5 en banc decision, the court struck down the state’s so‑called “assault firearm” ban and its 10‑round magazine limit, holding that New Jersey can’t outlaw a whole class of semi‑automatic rifles, including AR‑15s, or the magazines they run on, when millions of Americans own and use them for lawful self‑defense. This is the first time a federal appeals court has clearly said a state’s rifle ban crosses the Second Amendment line, and the ruling goes beyond the old district court win that only protected one specific AR‑15 model while leaving the mag ban intact.

Groups like FPC, ANJRPC, NRA, SAF, and CNJFO have been grinding on these cases for years, and today’s decision is exactly what they were fighting for: a clear acknowledgement that you can’t call something an “assault weapon” and magically move it outside the Constitution. With SCOTUS already set to hear rifle‑ban cases out of Illinois and Connecticut next term, this decision adds even more pressure and sets up a direct clash between circuits that have tried to uphold similar laws and a Third Circuit that just said “no.”

Attention all Shooters, here's another club activity coming up that is open to the Public on August 16, 2026.

Hey Range Permt Holders, over many years our range membership has asked for a separate Pistol Range Area designed with a shorter target range area other than the Rifle Range Area. Although, the new location and structure has taken form and almost at the completion stages with expanded parking to provide increase activities for bought Rifle and Pistol Shooters. It will soon be available for range membership use for handguns only!!! For all new prospective members at the BF&GC, our annual range permit is current $40.00 and our permits are clearly displayed within a club Lanyard to demonstrate transparency. Note, an annual club gratuity button is not a paid Offical Range Permt, so follow the club rules and regulations, while having your offical paid permit with you, while at the range area. Always remember to secure the gate, while coming and leaving the range area to protect the club's property and provide added secured to the clubs range membership. 👀

In April we asked if any women were interested in doing a shotgun clinic and there was indeed some interest. So we have that scheduled for Saturday August 15th, 10-3pm Mother/daughters are encouraged to come, fathers can bring daughters but only daughters shoot. Fee $40. If we fill up we will have a wait list. Contact the phone # on the poster if questions.
