So this is funny... it's just Sweetea giving a lesson to Sarah. Nothing unusual. Except at the very end, you can hear me say, "much better!" and apparently Sweetea took umbrage with that because she gives me several steps of the "side-eye." How human are they, really?

Welcome new student Marta! Her sweet personality is a breath of fresh air in the barn. She took her first lesson on Miss Sweetea and the two had a great connection!

Had to say goodbye to Missy, at least for a couple of months. She was a barn favorite and we're sad to see her go. Her improvement over the summer was so satisfying. She'll be back at Christmas time for more lessons so we're looking forward to that. Thanks to Oakley for another great lesson!

A shout out to Oakley, who joined the Red Sky Farm team last summer and has blossomed into a wonderful lesson horse! If a school horse can trot slowly and safely around the ring with a small child on a loose rein, then pump it up and jump a bounce with an adult, then he's worth his weight in gold! We struggled with ulcer issues this spring but it seems to be under control with some new meds. Thank you, Oakley, for being such a great lesson horse!

We made a "love connection" today. Naomi, who has been riding with us for 3 months, took her lesson today on Oakley. And they fell in love! He was such a gentleman; if a horse will step into trot with a young rider still learning to keep her hands quiet, and give her several nice steps down the rail, then he's a saint! Thanks, Oakley, for a great lesson, and good job, Naomi- your riding has really improved!

Just a cute picture of a couple of my working students! Wait-what? This doesn't look much like work. Looks like casual, relaxed lounging in the shade under a beautiful tree. No judgment, but... (Just kidding! My working students are absolutely the best! Shout out to Heidi, Kelly and Emily who make my life so much easier. I love you guys and couldn't do it without you!)

So pretty! Pangea is starting his training at Red Sky. Heidi will be working hard this fall but this guy seems to be so easy, kind, and enthusiastic!

In love already! The new guy, Baxter, is here and settling in. He's very stoic and elegant. I look forward to watching him shake off the racehorse work ethic and enjoy some down time being brushed by little girls who will braid his mane, going out in the pasture with new friends, watching the other horses jump around, and being dressed up with hats and sparkles and stuff.
