VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE SHARE!
From Mickey Keaton:
Shelby County we need your help!
Sgt. Sam Lilley needs your help.
One year ago Sam was involved in a tragic on duty motorcycle crash while responding to an officer down call.
Since that time, Sam has showed tremendous progress from being on death’s door, to being in a fairly long-term coma, to now being able to feed himself some, stand on his own, and do some very basic tasks.
Sam’s recovery has been nothing short of amazing, but he is still not well and has a long road ahead of him.
We don’t have a medical retirement, therefore, since this has gone on for over a year, the county commission will decide his fate as it comes to pay, benefits, and keeping his OJI open to cover his medical expenses.
The Shelby County commission meets on Wednesday, November 12 where they will vote on this item.
I am concerned on which way this vote will go. I am asking each of you if you can take the time out of your day to be at the county commission meeting to make your voice heard we would appreciate it.
If you are not able to make the meeting, please take the time to email your county commissioner now and encourage them to do RIGHT by Sgt Lilley, and keep his pay and all benefits intact!
Please be respectful in your email.
This is the information available regarding the resolution before the Shelby County Commission:
Resolution to continue to provide Shelby County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Samuel Lilley his salary, health care, OJI, and other benefits, comprising all of the rights and emoluments of a full-time Deputy Sheriff until his retirement or death, whichever first occurs. This item requires the expenditure of Shelby County Sheriff's Office General Funds in the amount of $118,720.00. Sponsored by Commissioner Mick Wright, Commissioner Amber Mills, and Commissioner Dr. Edmund Ford, Jr. (THIS ITEM DOES NOT MEET REQUIREMENTS OF PERMANENT RULES).

The Bartlett Police Association is proud to sponsor a Bartlett Police Department team in this year’s Hester-Sykes Memorial Softball Tournament in Memphis, TN!
The Hester-Sykes Tournament, hosted by the Memphis Police Association Charitable Foundation, honors the memory of Officers Robert Hester and John Sykes, who both made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Each year, law enforcement, and FIre teams come together for a weekend of friendly competition, camaraderie, and remembrance — celebrating those who serve and those we’ve lost.
We’re honored to represent the City of Bartlett and stand alongside our brothers and sisters in public safety for this meaningful tradition.
