Suggested Message to your important contacts for Surrendering your phone when you ‘Disappear’, at Serenity Wellness Retreat.

Hi! I’m going to be intentionally off my phone for the weekend while I’m staying at a quiet wellness retreat.

I’ll be surrendering my phone when I arrive so I can truly unplug, rest, and be present without calls, texts, social media, or notifications. ❤️

I’m safe and in good hands, and this is something I’m choosing for myself. I’ll have my phone back when my stay is over and will get in touch then.

If there is a genuine emergency and you absolutely need to reach me, please contact Suzi at Serenity Wellness Retreat at the number I’ve provided to you.

Otherwise, please don’t worry if you don’t hear from me—I’m simply enjoying being wonderfully unreachable for a little while. 😊

WHAT IF YOU DISAPPEARED… FOR A LITTLE WHILE?

When you arrive at The Disappearing Retreat, one of the first things you can do is hand me your phone.

I’ll lock it up.

Not because you can’t have it.

Because for a little while… you don’t need it.

No scrolling.
No notifications.
No checking the weather every 12 minutes.
No answering everyone else’s questions.
No documenting every moment.

Just you.

Quiet mornings.
A little cabin in the middle of nowhere.
Your journal. Your thoughts. The horses. The chickens. The sky.

And the strange, wonderful feeling of realizing…

Nothing is actually happening on your phone that needs you right now.

You came here to disappear.

So let’s really disappear.

We’ve decided to open up the cabin again.

THE DISAPPEARING CABIN
Do Not Disturb.

A tiny, quiet cabin in the Wyoming countryside for when you just need to get away from everything—and everyone.

Sleep. Unplug. Read. Draw. Walk the labyrinth. Spend time in the grounding room. Or simply do absolutely nothing.

You can even choose to lock your phone away and truly disappear.

No TV. Limited Wi-Fi. An old-fashioned outhouse. Horses and chickens nearby. Just peace, quiet, darkness, and space to breathe.

Tuesday/Thursday 6 AM yoga is included when you’re here.

You don’t come here to be entertained.
You come here to be left alone.

The Disappearing Cabin — Do Not Disturb.

Please Text 307-431-0386 for reservations.

Closed Sept 19-28

People-pleasing is a behavioral pattern where you consistently prioritize others' needs, opinions, and desires over your own. It stems from a deep-rooted fear of rejection, conflict, or being negatively evaluated. While it appears selfless, chronic people-pleasing suppresses your authentic self, leading to exhaustion, resentment, and burnout.Identifying People-Pleasing TraitsPeople-pleasing is a learned coping mechanism rather than a personality trait. It often masquerades as kindness, but it fundamentally differs from healthy altruism because it is driven by a need for approval rather than a genuine desire to give.Key behavioral signs include:Difficulty saying "no": Taking on extra tasks or social commitments despite being overwhelmed, simply to avoid disappointing others.Excessive apologizing: Saying "I'm sorry" for taking up space, having a different opinion, or for things completely out of your control.Conflict avoidance: Agreeing with others or staying quiet during arguments to maintain superficial harmony and avoid upsetting anyone.Accepting blame: Taking responsibility for issues or the emotional reactions of others to prevent discomfort.Losing your sense of self: Frequently adopting the opinions and preferences of those around you to the point where you lose touch with your own.
