We’re pleased to announce that Jesse Novak has been promoted to Greater Somerset County YMCA STORM Swim Team Head Coach & Director of Competitive Aquatics!

Jesse’s connection to the Y runs deep. He began swimming with Somerset Valley YMCA in Bridgewater at age 9 and went on to compete collegiately at Rowan University, where he earned numerous honors and championships, including multiple All-American distinctions and Division III national titles. He later continued his competitive swimming career in Los Angeles, competing at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

Jesse began coaching while in college and went on to hold coaching roles with several competitive aquatics programs in California, gaining experience working with swimmers across a range of ages and skill levels.

He returned to Greater Somerset County YMCA as Associate Director of Competitive Aquatics and has since become a valued member of the STORM leadership team. Jesse brings a deep understanding of competitive swimming, strong relationships with athletes and staff, and a genuine connection to the program he grew up in.

We’re excited to see Jesse lead the next chapter of competitive aquatics at GSCY and continue the STORM tradition of excellence. Please join us in congratulating Jesse on his new role!

After more than a decade with the Y, Coach Mary Korey is beginning a new chapter with GSCY STORM as an Assistant Head Coach!

Coach Mary has played a tremendous role in shaping STORM into a nationally recognized YMCA swim program, helping lead athletes to consecutive YMCA National Championship titles and representing Team USA as an international coach.

Beyond the championships and accolades, her greatest impact has been the relationships she’s built with swimmers, families, and coaches along the way.

We’re grateful Coach Mary will continue sharing her passion and experience with the STORM family. Join us in celebrating Coach Mary and her incredible impact!
