Recruiting isn’t something that suddenly begins during junior or senior year.
Long before highlight videos, official visits, and scholarship conversations, coaches are paying attention to the habits that don’t show up on a stat sheet.
Academics.
Character.
Coachability.
Consistency.
As parents, we naturally want to help our children get noticed. But one of the best things we can do is help them become the kind of student-athlete coaches want in their program.
That’s what this page is about.
Not hype.
Not shortcuts.
Just honest information that helps families navigate the recruiting process with more confidence and less confusion.

Every great journey starts with a question.
For me, it was this:
“How does college recruiting actually work?”
When my son started high school basketball, I thought I had a pretty good understanding of the process. I knew about NCAA schools and junior colleges, but it didn’t take long to realize there was an entire world I knew nothing about.
NAIA. NCAA Divisions I, II, and III. Eligibility rules. Recruiting calendars. Official visits. Unofficial visits. Highlight films. Communication rules. Academic requirements.
The more I learned, the more I realized I wasn’t alone.
There are thousands of parents trying to support their student-athletes while quietly wondering if they’re missing something important.
That’s why I created Insight Sports Group.
Not to tell families where their child should play.
Not to promise scholarships.
And not because I have every answer.
I created this page to share what I’m learning, simplify the recruiting process, and provide resources that help parents make informed decisions alongside their student-athletes.
If you’re beginning this journey—or you’re already in the middle of it—I hope this community becomes a place where you find clarity, encouragement, and confidence.

This is an appreciation post. I appreciate this woman so much . Basketball and the way that she played gravitated me to her, but the person that I got to know mean so much more. Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day that marks the true end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, news of freedom finally reached the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas – more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the enduring spirit of African Americans. It's a time to reflect on our history, recognize the progress made, and recommit to the ongoing fight for equality and justice.
Let’s celebrate the rich culture, history, and contributions of the Black community. Together, we can build a future where freedom and equality are truly for everyone.

According to CBS News, The NCAA and the nation’s five biggest conferences have agreed to pay nearly $2.8 billion to settle a host of antitrust claims,a monumental decision that sets the stage for a groundbreaking revenue-sharing model that could start directing millions of dollars directly to athletes as soon as the 2025 fall semester.
