Red Stick Fitness

24/7 Fitness Center Cardio and Resistance Machines, Free Weights, Personal Training

Operating as usual

[05/25/20]   Red Stick Fitness is back open!!

In order to keep the gym safe and clean, the hours have been temporarily changed. Opening and closing will be 5am-9pm Monday through Sunday.

We will have dedicated hours where masks will be mandatory for those who are concerned with the respiratory droplets. Those hours will be from 1-3pm

The gym was professional cleaned and disinfected. We encourage members to continue practicing safe social distancing. This includes giving other members at least 6 feet of space and separation by at least one machine, especially cardio areas.

Towels will not be provided at this time. Please bring your own towel.

Members and trainers MUST thoroughly wipe down all equipment after each use. We have provided plenty of bottles of cleaner and shop towels located on the towel rack.

Please wash hands upon entering the gym, we also have two hand disinfectant stations located at the front and back doors of the gym.

Please do not come to the gym if you are feeling sick!!! Members showing signs of being sick will be asked to leave the gym.

Like many of you, we are excited to get back into the gym. We plan to reopen sometime next week after finalizing a few of the compliance recommendations from the state. We are going above and beyond to keep our members safe and we will repost an official opening date as soon as we have that information available.

We look forward to seeing everyone soon,

Took this photo Monday night right before I temporarily shut down Red Stick Fitness due to the coronavirus. I am using it as a reminder that this virus isn’t an excuse to let myself get out of shape and it shouldn’t be for you either.

In fact, if you are out of shape and stuck at home with extra free time, now is an amazing opportunity to get in the best shape of your life. Truth is, you don’t need a gym to get amazing results, just a little creativity and a solid plan of action.

If you have a good plan, staying in shape is a lot easier than you think. I put way more hours into the latest PlayStation game than I do in the gym (3 hours max weekly) but I have my diet dialed in perfectly for my size and body type.

I am going to start up some FaceTime group workout sessions for those interested. I will also be opening diet consultations for those interested. It doesn’t matter what level of physical fitness you’re starting your plan, if you are male/female, looking to gain muscle or drop fat, I can create a diet and home exercise program that will get you to your goal.

Physical fitness and a healthy diet do so much to support a healthy immune system, so what better time to start than now! You've made the decision to increase your fitness, and we're here to help you along the way. We warmly welcome you to our facility and our professional staff and expert trainers would love to discuss your goals and how we can help you meet them.

Muscle and Motion

Is your back hurting you after lifting? Learn how to hip hinge!

Watch this great video we created collaborating with the @moveu_official team.

The hip hinge is one of the most important exercises for trainees to learn, before starting squats, deadlifts, kettlebell swings and in general for proper day to day movements.
It looks simple but many trainees' bending patterns are faulty.
For teaching the hip hinge exercise all you need is a wall and a dowel rod/stick.

Ask your trainee to touch the wall with his buttocks, and make sure the dowel/stick remains in contact with the three points at all times.

A. Head
B. Thoracic Spine
C. Sacrum

Reverse the movement once you feel a big stretch in the hamstrings.
However, individuals with superior hamstring flexibility will be able to descend to mid-shin level. If you have a short/average hamstring do not try to imitate them!

Some people can lift with a posterior tilt and rounded back and be just fine. This isn’t the majority of the people we deal with though. We see people have MASSIVE improvements to their back pain when they learn to hip hinge.⁣

Tag your partner, your Crossfit buddy, or your coach and give this a try!⁣

Old Paths Natural Market

Eating organic has just been common sense to people who have broken away from mainstream ideology and the paradigm of government, agriculture and medicine in the USA. Now a study of 70,000 has been conducted and shows their common sense (which has been called paranoia) was SPOT ON!
"People who buy organic food are usually convinced it’s better for their health, and they’re willing to pay dearly for it. But until now, evidence of the benefits of eating organic has been lacking."
