I’ve been thinking about leadership.

Not titles. Not popularity. Not whether everyone understands you.

I mean the kind of leadership that changes people.

And when I think about that, I think about TheBrandMarian

But I refuse to allow someone else’s interpretation of Marian to erase my lived experience with her.

I know the woman who mentored me.

I know the woman who challenged me when I was sitting on my own potential.

I know the woman who helped me become bolder, more visible, and more willing to execute.

Marian changed the way I show up in my own life.

No headline, rumor, accusation, or opinion can rewrite an experience I personally lived.

That is the Marian I know.

And that truth deserves to be said out loud.

There is something I hear from women over and over again.

“I’m just not techy.”

They usually say it with a little laugh.

Like they’re apologizing.

Like it’s a personality trait they’ve already accepted.

Can I lovingly challenge that?

I don’t believe you’re “not techy.”

I believe you’ve been carrying so much for so long that you don’t have the capacity to learn one more complicated thing.

Those are two very different problems.
