We’re proud to recognize four athletes who continue to show hard work, growth, and leadership for the Battle Creek XC teams:

Brynlee Wells: Our high school girls' Runner of the Week. Brynlee works incredibly hard and has made tremendous strides since last season. Her growing confidence, determination, and leadership continue to make a positive impact on the team.

Ryker Reese: Our high school boys' Runner of the Week. Ryker is competing in cross country for the first time this year and has completely bought into the process. He brings a positive attitude and a smile each day, and his hard work continues to result in faster times at every meet.

Isabelle Anderson: Our junior high girls' Runner of the Week. Isabelle has worked extremely hard to become a scorer for our junior high team. She is always willing to learn, buy in, and do the difficult things necessary to make herself better.

Zane Kuchar: Our junior high boys' Runner of the Week. Zane is a positive eighth-grade leader who brings a selfless attitude to our junior high squad. He always keeps the mood light and upbeat, and his positive energy is contagious.

These four are excellent examples of determination, growth, leadership, and team spirit.

We’re proud to recognize four athletes who continue to show hard work and leadership as our Week 2 Runners of the Week

Olivia Jessen – Our high school girls' Runner of the Week. Tough as nails as a freshman, Olivia led our squad at the Boone Central Invite. She continues to improve, trust herself, and show her potential with every race.

Bo Richter – Our high school boys' Runner of the Week. Bo is a senior leader who has been a great runner for us this season. He crushed his career PR and continues to set a strong example for his teammates.

Sophia Bishop – Our junior high girls Runner of the Week. Sophia has attended every practice this fall and consistently brings a positive attitude. Her dedication and encouragement have made her a great influence on her teammates.

Charlie Renner – Our junior high boys' Runner of the Week. Charlie pushes himself during practices and on race days. He also brings an uplifting presence before races, especially when he breaks out his sweet dance moves!

These four are excellent examples of dedication, leadership, toughness, and team spirit.

The coaches' Class C Week 2 rankings have been released. Lincoln Christian's boys jump into the top spot after a partial squad ran well at its season debut on Thursday in Seward. Holdrege drops to #2 despite sweeping the top six spots at Cozad. The top 5 teams from the preseason poll shuffled their spots, but the #6-10 teams are all new in this week's rankings.

On the girls' side, Adams Central retains the top spot after edging new #2 Minden (previously unranked) by one point at the Minden meet. Wayne jumped from unranked to #3 after two strong meets by Tayla Hurner and freshmen Hadley Dunklau and Sarah Kuchta. Four of the top five teams competed at Minden on Saturday, and the rankings reflect their order of finish.

The Norfolk Catholic boys and girls teams, just having arrived in Class C, both enter the rankings at #10 this week.
