Many of you have known
Shelly through our horse world. The beautiful red-haired Shelly was one of the best horse show starters ever, starting at the Windsong stable shows and adding shows at Albion, Waterloo and Meadowview to her resume. Her good humor and strict attention to detail was amazing; there was rarely any downtime in the show rings when Shelly was working the ingate. It turned out that Shelly even brought her husband Corey to work with her, lol, he became jump crew, gate crew and general show humorist.

Shelly grew up riding at Windsong. Her first pony was Quigley, a palomino pony with an opinion, and then Windsong’s Bear and then her own Fletcher (Trilogy). A highlight was Shelly and Fletcher winning the McCann Series High Point Children’s Hunter Trophy!

Shelly did have the chance to introduce her mini-me daughter, Maisey, to the horse world. Maisey is not interested in riding yet, but is enthusiastic to brush and be around horses and liked to spend time with her Mom in the starter’s booth. We will all be sure to make any and all opportunities for Maisey to fall in love with riding when she’s ready.

Shelly was a joy in the barn and in life❤️Sadly, a rare cancer ended her life much too soon last weekend.

Let’s think of her, and reflect her kindness, as we stand at horse show in-gates.

It’s that time of year, time to return your perpetual trophies. Please drop them off at Meadowview Farm as soon as possible. OR, you can bring them to the Fox Brush at Albion show.

Our “Show for Shelly” was wonderful! 💚

LEHS trainers, exhibitors, family and Show Staff raised $2000 !! Wow! Thank you doesn’t begin to express our gratitude. What a blessing for Shelly and her family!

Thank you to all who wore green ribbons to encourage her on the health journey ahead!

The 2022 Awards Banquet is just around the corner! Get your tickets for the BBQ dinner by completing the attached form and mailing a check to Cathy. You can also buy tickets at next weekends LEHS show at Meadowview.

The Awards Banquet will be held Saturday, September 10th at Meadowview Farm once showing for the day is complete. Text Cathy with any questions!
