Freehub Cycle Club

We had an awesome first session of our Freehub Cycle Club Earn-A-Bike program yesterday!

The lesson was called “My bike is my friend”.

Students learned the names of different bike parts and the tools that fix them. Students discovered 10 things they had in common with their Mechanic mentors and learned the importance of finding common ground in friendships.

We discussed how our Bikes, like our relationships, need constant maintenance and sometimes, repair.

Everyone meet Tony. He is studying to be a certified journeyman & now he will be able to get to his classes more efficiently thanks to all the generous folk who make the Freehub Cycle Club a reality!

Happy World Bicycle Day!

Everyone meet our neighbor Landen. Thanks to the generosity of so many, Landen no longer has to walk to work every day!

This past Sunday, we were honored to participate in the Safety Day hosted by the Marshall United Methodist Church. We had a great time checking helmet fits, tuning up bikes, distributing bike lights, and facilitating a bike course for the kids to practice safe riding. We even participated in a Stop the Bleed workshop and learned a lot! Thank you, Marshall UMC, for inviting us to be a part of this amazing day, and thank you, League of Michigan Bicyclists - LMB, for providing the bike lights & safety booklets for distribution.

We look forward to this event next year!

Our Mission is to be a hub for our community to discover & experience freedom through the joy of cycling!

Our neighbor here had her bike stolen, which she relied on to get to her new job and to the store for groceries. This freedom of mobility was literally stolen from her, but we were able to provide her with a replacement ride.

Had a Super Duper day at our first bike maintenance clinic! Some of our team members a gathered today to do a little tune up and quick maintenance to get our bikes race ready for this season. It was great to spend some time with each other and learn a little about some important bike maintenance. Thank you to all those that were able to participate and special thank you to Colin Christopher Sherfield and Freehub Cycle Club for hosting!

We are so grateful for yet another genrous donation of 14 bikes and some wheels from our friends at Upcycle Bikes!

We have a lot of work to do in 2026! Stay tuned!
