We’ve got 18.8 PPT salinity on our latest BayouBos field reading, a full moon, a morning low tide followed by a long incoming push, and a pretty clean weather forecast for Saturday.
The water has been changing around here lately, and the bait is showing up with it. Live shrimp, finger mullet and fiddler crabs are all in stock.

🌕 FULL MOON
Saturday is the Full Moon — 100% illuminated according to the Waveland tide information.
We’re right on the full-moon cycle, and with the tide moving from the morning low into the afternoon high, there should be plenty of current changes to work with throughout the day.
☀️ SATURDAY WEATHER
Saturday is looking mostly sunny, with a high around 85°.
The National Weather Service is calling for northeast winds around 5–10 MPH, becoming southeast during the afternoon.
The marine forecast is also showing light winds and smooth water conditions, with NNE winds in the morning becoming lighter/easterly through the afternoon.
That’s a pretty nice setup for getting the boat, kayak or wade gear out.
🎯 WHAT I’D BE FISHING FOR
🟥 REDFISH
Good opportunity
With the morning falling tide and then the incoming push, I’d work the areas where bait has somewhere to get trapped or pushed around.
Think:
* Marsh drains
* Points
* Grass edges
* Shallow pockets
* Current breaks
* Creek mouths
Live shrimp and finger mullet are both good choices when you’re trying to cover redfish.
🐟 SPECKLED TROUT
Worth targeting
The 18.8 PPT salinity reading is encouraging, especially compared with the lower readings we’ve had during the wetter periods.
I’d look for trout where you have cleaner water + bait + moving water rather than just picking a spot because it’s normally a trout spot.
The incoming tide after the 7:31 AM low is the part I’d really want to fish.
🟤 FLOUNDER
Good setup
That morning low followed by a long incoming tide gives you plenty of shallow-water structure to work.
Look around:
* Sandy bottoms
* Points
* Drain mouths
* Channel edges
* Shallow-to-deep transitions
Keep your presentation down around the bottom and work it slow.
