Although Half Hollow Hills came away with the win on Tuesday night, our Lady swimmers showcased solid effort and determination in the pool. Leading the way was sophomore Hailey Bendersky, who broke her own varsity record in the 100-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 55.32 seconds—just a tenth faster than her previous best.

Despite a loss to Connetquot/East Islip last night, our Lady swimmers delivered some impressive performances—led by - sophomore Hailey Bendersky!
Hailey set a new varsity record in the 100-yard butterfly, breaking her own previous mark by 1.2 seconds with a time of 1:01.08. She didn’t stop there—Hailey also broke the 200-yard individual medley record, a record stood since 2002!

Our swimmers had a great showing at the Suffolk County Championships meet this past Sunday swimming away with 8th place finish overall! Lily, Avery, Hailey and Katina took 8th in 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free relay. Additionally, Hailey Bendersky broke her own Varsity record in 50 free (25.26) and took 6th overall in 100 free. Not to be outdone, Avery Van Tassel swam away with 5th overall in 500 freestyle and took 10th in 100 breaststroke! Congratulations to our girls varsity team on a solid season.

Congratulations to Hailey Bendersky on beating her own varsity record in 50 yards freestyle by .1 of a second. The new time stands at 25.40.
Hailey also broke the 100 freestyle varsity record that belonged to Brittnay Daly (55.82) and stood since 2003. Hailey’s new time is 55.56!
Additionally, Lily Meliere, Hailey, Avery Van Tassel and Katina Ali Took 4th place in 200 MR and swam away with a silver medal finish in 200 Free Relay, out-touching Half Hollow Hills.

Bay Shore High School senior Skyler Duke is the captain of the swimming team and was a major part of the school’s rowing dominance in winning the Long Island Championship in 2024.
Duke also holds a 97 GPA and holds three school records in freestyle races. She is ranked Top 10 in the county in the 50-free and the 100-free.

Congratulations to Bay Shore/Brentwood girls varsity swimmers on a great performance at the Suffolk County Swimming and Diving Championship meet at Stony Brook University.
Ladies finished 8th overall.
Just a couple of Highlights …
400 Free relay took 6th (Buono, Bendersky, Duke S, Duke A)
Also…Hailey Bendersky broke two Bay Shore/Brentwood Varsity records:
50 Free in 25.51 (Previous record holder, Skyler Duke 25.65 in 2022)
And …
100 Fly in 1:02:33 (Previous record holder Brittney Daly 1:02.34 in 2002)

Congratulations to Hailey Bendersky, Avery Van Tassell, Skyler Duke and Ainsley Duke on breaking the Girls Varsity Record in 200 Freestyle Relay (1:46.75) last night at their last meet of the season. The previous record (Nieves, Esposito, Sims, Giuliani S) stood for almost 10 years.
