GENERAL STUDIO RULE REMINDERS: We pride ourselves in having a state-of-the-art facility with sprung marley dance floors and a clean (as well as caring!) environment. It's your job to help us keep it this way! Therefore, we ask that you strictly adhere to some of these easy-to-follow rules.
· There is NO FOOR OR DRINK of any kind permitted passed the waiting room. The dancers may bring water into the classrooms.
· We ask that you throw any garbage out in the receptacles located in the waiting room, restrooms or classrooms.
· There is absolutely NO GUM CHEWING allowed anywhere in the studio!
· STREET SHOES are strictly prohibited on the dance floors. Please take your shoes off before entering the classrooms!
· Your child's dance shoes may not be worn outside on the concrete. Marley floors are very delicate and will not whether debris brought in from the street. Debris brought onto our floors can also cause injury to our dancers who may be barefoot. You will be asked to purchase new shoes if your child is wearing them outside.
· Our waiting area at the main entrance of the studio is to be utilized for parents who choose to wait for their dancers' class to be over. Parents, please do not congregate in the hallways as it becomes difficult for us to get the children in and out of class in an orderly fashion.
· Dancers for the most part come dressed in their dance clothes for class. Should you need to change your dancer, please use one of the restrooms to quickly do so.
· There are ample hooks for your dancer to hang his or her coat and bags on. Please utilize them and do not leave belongings on the floor. Dancers should put their street shoes in their dance bags and bring their dance bags into the classroom with them if they have multiple classes or are in a combo class and need to change their shoes midway through the class.
· The hallway between near the bathroom should be kept free and clear of dance bags and shoes at all times.
· When using the restrooms, please be sure to ONLY THROW TOILET PAPER in the toilet bowls, paper towels and other paper products can clog our drains and cause flooding. If you notice that a bathroom is out of paper, or that something is clogged, please notify the front desk so it can be taken care of.
· ACRO Tricks are strictly prohibited in and around the studio and should only be done and practiced in class with the supervision of your acrobatics teacher and your classroom assistant.

CLASS SCHEDULEs & SCHEDULE CHANGES:
Please take note that our Fall Schedule is subject to change based on enrollment. We reserve the right to close and move any class with less than 5 students. We will do our best to help you find another class that is suitable for your child and works for you! Please visit our website to view our class schedule. Classes that are full have wait lists. If a spot opens up we will go down the list accordingly.
Please also understand that throughout this month our faculty is evaluating the placement of the students. A dancer may be asked to switch a class based on the class level. We want to make sure that the dancer will be getting the most out of their classes!
We understand that your dancers and their families have other activities and scheduling for parents can sometimes be difficult, however, in order to provide the best training for your dancers, parents and dancers must understand that we cannot place a student in a higher-level class if they do not have prior dance knowledge or skills solely based on age, because they want to be with friends, or because the time works best in a parent's schedule. Just as in other activities there are building blocks in dance technique that we need to make sure our students are getting to progress properly.
ATTENDANCE: Although we understand that certain things, such as illness are not in our control, we ask parents please remember that your child's class attendance is essential in the dance education of your child as an individual as well as your child's class as a whole. Inconsistent class attendance holds up the student's learning process & causes teachers to have to re-teach technique and choreography. Consistent attendance for our younger dancers is vital in helping them get used to their classroom routine. Young dancers who are frequently absent are more apprehensive about going to class. This makes their learning process more difficult. Preparation for our annual recital is a team effort, if a member of the team is missing practice they will not perform to the best of their abilities. We ask that when student is absent from class that they ask their classmates about the choreography they missed, or make it a point to get to class a few minutes early to speak to their teacher about what they missed. All students are entitled to a make-up lesson for all classes missed. Tuition will not be refunded due to absences. Please also take note of our attendance policy that is outlined in our registration packet. Students missing 10 or more classes throughout the year will be required to repeat the same level of class the following year.
ILLNESS & INJURY: We ask our parents to use their best judgment when their child is under the weather. If a student has a fever or any other contagious illness or has been on antibiotic for less than 48 hours, please keep your child home. Please do not send your dancer to class if they have any visible signs of a rash on their bodies that has not been diagnosed by a doctor. You may take a make-up lesson when your child is feeling better.
If a student has an injury that enables them from participating in class we encourage them to attend class and observe. A teacher might ask them to take notes on the technique or choreography learned. Tuition is not refunded if students cannot attend class due to injury. A doctor's note is required upon the dancers return to class.
DROPPING CLASSES: Should you wish to add or drop a class we ask that all registered students do so by Saturday, October 17th.
Any student wishing to drop or move a class after this date, for any reason will incur a $25.00 drop fee to cover the extra paperwork that will need to be done after this point. This fee will not be charged to the student should NPAC cancel a class or move a student after this date. Should you choose to drop a class after costumes have been ordered, you are responsible for the balance of the costume and when it comes in, it will be yours to keep.
DANCEWEAR: Please make sure to refer to the registration packet or our website for the studio dress code. Please note that tap shoes should not have ribbons, buttons or Velcro, and only our advanced dancers should be wearing canvas ballet slippers.
We also carry a full line of NPAC Dancewear! Support your studio and show your !
If your dancer has shoes from last year that still fit them, but are not the same style or color as specified at Nadia's PAC they MAY wear them for CLASS until they outgrow them, or we reach our scheduled picture date. (Whichever comes first.)
Slippers that look like dance shoes are not permitted in class ever! They do not provide the proper support for a young dancer's foot and are dangerous because they become a slip hazard.
Pointe Shoes: New dancer's en pointe MUST have their shoes approved by their teacher before sewing anything on their shoes.
Dress Code: Dancer's MUST be in proper dress code, with the proper shoes and their hair pulled up for class. If you were to go to your baseball practice without your uniform you would not be able to play, if you do not have the proper attire for dance class, you will not be permitted to take class. If you are unsure about what your child needs for his or her classes, please refer to your registration packet, our website, or ask at the front desk.
All Ballet students should have their hair in a neat bun. Students should refrain from wearing too much jewelry, especially large necklaces or large earrings that can hit the dancer in the face or get caught on something or someone and cause injury.
Students should NEVER have jewelry on in an Acro Class.
Students should always have a bottle of water with them.
Creative Movement, Combo I and Combo II Classes: - We ask that the parents be patient as we begin our dance year. We want this to be a positive experience for your young dancer. Please try to adhere to the following guidelines:
- Please try to arrive on time
- Please have your dancer dressed and ready and waiting in the waiting area
- Please have your dancer take their dance bag with them.
- Please make sure you have labeled your child's shoes/dancebag, etc...with his or her name.
- Please allow the teacher and teacher assistant only to walk the children back to their class.
- Please understand that a parent will only be permitted in the classroom if a child is having SEVERE difficulty staying in class. This is at the discretion of the teacher.
- Please understand that there will be NO VIEWING of the classes during the first few weeks. The teachers and students need this time together to establish a routine and become familiar with each other.
- In the digital age we live in, we all want pictures of our children on such a special day. We ask that if you intend to take pictures, please arrive early enough to do so, or plan to stay after. Parents will NOT be permitted into the classrooms to take pictures during the first weeks of classes. We also ask that your refrain from taking pictures as the children are walking into class as it may make an apprehensive child more upset.
- Please refrain from peeking! Every parent wants to check up on their child, make sure they are having fun, paying attention, etc... (I completely understand as I would LOVE to be a fly on the wall in my own child's class.) HOWEVER, it is distracting to the children and the teacher and disrupts the flow of the class.
- We will have designated Parent Observation days as the year progresses.
- The teachers and/or their assistants will walk the children out to you at the end of class.
- Please refrain from congregating in the hallways as it becomes cumbersome to get the students into the proper classrooms.
- Please have your dancer use the restroom before class begins.
Young Children and the Bathroom: All students should be able to take care of their own personal needs. If you are worried that your child may have difficulties, please stay in the waiting area for the duration of the class. Our class assistant will come and get you should your child need to use the facilities. Please also remind your child to use the restroom before class begins so they may not have to go during class.
Looking Ahead: Catch our NPAC Competition Team dancers performing at the Malba Car show this Sunday, September 20th!
Recital Dates: Our 24th annual recital will be held on Saturday, June 12th and Sunday, June 13th at St. Francis Prep High School.
Thank you for choosing Nadia's for your child's dance education! We look forward to a fun-filled year of dance!
Sincerely,
Ms. Nadia
