INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT: David Cole, Tennis Instructor 🎾
Since 2011, David Cole has helped lead and grow Beachwood’s tennis program, coaching athletes at every level including Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls, JV Girls, and Middle School Girls tennis.
During his time with Beachwood, the program has celebrated tremendous success, including team appearances in the OTCA State Final Four and multiple singles players and doubles teams qualifying for the state tournament. One of Cole’s favorite memories came in 2013 when the Varsity Boys team finished 19-1, defeated Hawken to win the Northeast Ohio section of the OTCA Team Tournament, and advanced to the state final four.
Beyond the wins and accomplishments, Cole says the most rewarding part of coaching is working with students and watching their growth and improvement both on and off the court.
For Beachwood Community Services, David Cole leads youth tennis lessons, adult intro to tennis, and adult cardio tennis throughout the summer months. In addition to coaching at Beachwood, Cole is also a part-time instructor at the Mayfield Village Racquet Club and continues to play competitive USTA tennis, bringing his passion and experience to every practice and lesson.
Sign up for one of his upcoming summer sessions at BeachwoodRec.com.

Big congratulations to Tristan Brown on an outstanding and incredibly busy weekend of competition!
On Friday, he competed in the state track and field championships prelims in the 4x400 relay and advanced to the state finals.
On Friday night, he suited up for the East West All Star Football Game, hosted by the Greater Cleveland Football Coaches Association, where he showcased his skills as both a kicker and punter at John Carroll University in this prestigious showcase.
On Saturday, he was back on the track at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, competing in the 4x400 relay finals and helping lead his relay team to an 8th place finish in the state.
Two days, two sports, and a whole lot of competition at the highest level—an impressive showing all around. Congratulations, Tristan!
