“We always look forward to the Lowcountry Regatta!” says Stan Laroche, a dedicated competitor in the locally famous Sea Island One Design fleet. He calls the Lowcountry Regatta a guaranteed “good time,” and will tell you that the Beaufort Yacht & Sailing Club in many ways feels “like a second home.”

Laroche is also passionate about sharing the rich history of the SIOD boats in South Carolina waters, along with a meaningful 2nd Place award that honors his late father.
