On Friday at the viewing, we played “Celebrate You” while pictures of my brother’s life went across the screen, as a kid, as a soldier, as a man.
On Saturday at the funeral, he received the 21-gun salute. After the eulogy and closing remarks, the funeral director turned it over to me.
I played a song I had written for my mother called “Never Ready.”
I held it together until a few bars hit me. I had to step away for a moment. But I came back and stood at the podium until the song finished.
So many of you asked how you could get that song.
I’m preparing it for release so it can be available soon.
