AES customers can receive help from MVCAP’s Utility Assistance Department from AES Ohio Fuel Funds.

The funds can be used for past due or current balances as well as associated fees. Households must be living at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level. Customers do not need to have a disconnection notice.

To apply for fuel funds, clients can visit any MVCAP office and complete the regular HEAP application. The same documentation (citizenship, income and utility bills) must be submitted.

Applying through the state portal or mailing a HEAP application to the state is not recommended for this program.

Fuel Funds assistance can range up to $250.
