The journey to the Mylec Cup starts NOW! Here is the Head to Head outline and line up for this weekend’s opening matchup versus the Seattle Hard Seltzers!

The playoff bracket is formatted as a single elimination tournament. The Tournament Champion advances to New Jersey in mid September to play in the Mylec Cup against the best teams from around the country.

Little late but what a great weekend of hockey it was! The Cats split their 2 game stand in Bainbridge with a win over the Bears and a close loss to the Golden Eagles.

The Cats are prepped and ready for this Sunday’s game vs the Seltzers at home Skateworld Tacoma] at 9:00AM.

The Cats currently sit 2 points back in the standings from the second place spot and look to make a run here in the final 4 games.

It is with our utmost sadness that we announce the passing of our friend, Jerry Lemieux. He will forever be missed and loved by each of us for his hockey activism, humility, and support of our community.

To some, Jerry was a mentor, a coach, a teammate, the Captain, and a major supporter. To others, a friend, a friendly ear, a loved one. Over the year’s, Jerry sculpted the Algona Blues, a hockey club that gave kids the opportunity to be part of something bigger than themselves. Every Saturday, Jerry would be at the park and ready to teach and play the game of hockey. Jerry was one of few words, but led by example with his actions and his heart.
Many of our NBHL players from both the Cats and the Steelheads, as well as many more, have been blessed by his leadership and great sense of humor.

Jerry will forever live in our hearts and we will always look back upon his life as inspiration for why we play the game. Thank you, Jerry. Take it easy on the tendy up there.

Couple tough games for the Cats but the boys toughed it out to secure a split on the weekend.

Another hard fought battle with the Snacks but unfortunately, the Snacks came out on top. The Snacks currently sit upon the top of the standings in first place.

In the second game of the morning, the Steelheads pushed the Cats to the limits. With the Cats down 2-3 and time dwindling, Easton Thomas put one top shelf to send the game to OT. The Cats controlled the zone most of the OT period but couldn’t secure a goal. In the shootout, down a score and coming upon our last shooter, Dom Sosa put one top shelf after a few slick moves. Olaf Jensen sniped the shootout winner as the follower shooter. Huge win for the Cats with depth back up goaltender Logan Winters standing on his head all game.

The Cats are now 1-1-2-0 and sit in 3rd place in the PNW Division Standings! The Cats are looking ahead to June 26th where we will face both Oregon teams for the first time on the season! Should make for a couple barn burners!

Cats are looking for redemption versus the Seattle Cold Snacks tomorrow morning in the Week 2 opener!
Later that morning, the Cats face-off once more against the Steelheads in the Battle For Tacoma.

Good start to the season for the Cats. After going up 2-0 on the Cold Snacks, the Snacks bench depth started to kick in by igniting their offense and scoring 3 unanswered goals to win the game. The Cats look to bounce back in their rematch on June 5th.

The Cats were able to defeat the Steelheads in a close battle. The Steelheads played with grit and energy. The Cats will get round 2 with the Steelheads on June 5th as well.

The Cats are pleased with the start and ready to keep working their way up the standings ladder. Tune in June 5th for the next set of games to be played in Skateworld in Tacoma.
