When buddies are bigger than baseball, sportsmanship wins What happens when two friends square off but only one can continue his state tournament dream? In this case, sportsmanship is the winner.

Good food, friends, certificates, Southridge letters, and Coaches explaining how everything is relative and how "these group of players will be a great addition to our community in the future...we hope...ha J/K".

Not to say that we are done with this... but we both wanna say how much fun it was to be a part of Southridge baseball and we hope everyone has enjoyed the pictures/videos as much as we did doing it.

This isn't a goodbye, I'm sure well think of something to post. We wish everyone well and our boys a great future!!

May 21, 2018 First round of the State Championship, Sunny with some partly clouds showing, and a good south breeze, 71.

With the spectator stands full with both schools making a great showing.The Hawks came to Gopher field with the mindset that we can do this. A great attitude and confidence in warm ups, focused but with a touch of horseplay to keep things light. As this blogger crosses the playing field Will Wheeler says to me, "Hawks eat Gophers" giving a big smile.

Southridge was first at bat. As the game progressed the Hawks defense was pretty solid but the bat side of this game didn't show up sadly. As we all know these guys can "Give it a Ride" over an over.

Gresham took this contest 8-0 and was able to move onto the second round of the OSAA against West Linn.

Thanks for a great season guys it was great fun for me personally (Glenn 2yrs.) of some wet, cold, windy games but lots of sunny beautiful ones also. And for Pati and the most of you from Murreyhill to this 2018 season its a bitter sweet ending.

Pati tells me its gonna be so weird not to have any more games to watch with this team...sad.

Through the wins and losses this group of guys are solid and I'm sure these friendships will last a lifetime...

Go Hawks...forever...
