Sidewalk surfboards hand made in The USA from solid hardwoods.

Starting from ground zero to rebuild my shop so I can get back into my passion of making Longboard decks, I acquired what will be my workbenches at "Restore." It's basically like Goodwill of things taken from homes that have been demolished, remodeled, or items from estate sales. They are associated with Habitat for Humanity. These two kitchen cabinet sections I purchase for a grand total of $45. All I have to do is add surface to them and mount my tools and I'm good to go. Hopefully that'll happen this coming month. My budget is, shall we say, less than shoestring. So what is that then the "potato skin budget?" Hahaha
My passion for skateboards, now specifically Longboards, goes back to when I first started skating in 1965. I was a very young nine year old that was gifted my first skateboard from a cousin. I still have that board. The original clay wheels were wore down beyond use and were tossed in the early 70s when I replace them with polyurethane. Everything else is still original save a few screws for mounting the trucks. I used that skateboards lines to create the lines of my decks that I make now. I refer to them as sidewalk surfboards, because in essence that's what they are. They're designed for cruising the sidewalks not for tricks or any fancy things though I have been able to do a couple of old stunts that I did when I was a kid. Limited to what my back can handle of course. Haha
Seen in this image, is one of the two sections that I purchased. I'm stoked to be getting back into doing what I really love.

Silly me just put in an order for 100 screws, 100 washers, and 100 nuts. The problem with that is out of an order of one hundred I would only make enough for12 decks. ...Hate it when that happens!

2018 Decks 04/05/2018

Mounting hardware; 8 stainless steel #10 x 1.25" screws (32 thread), 8 #10 stainless steel washers, 8 #10 stainless steel teflon lock nuts (32 thread), 1- 3mm allen wrench.

I hope to be setting up shop in a new location by the end of the month and will begin to test a new line of boards made of Maple. The Cherry wood boards will continue. Reason for the maple boards is to have an entry level priced board of the same design and quality. The idea is to provide a more economical board for the greater longboard consumer audience. Estimated cost will be approximately $60, half the cost of the current Cherry wood longboards. ...Stay tuned.

While I wait for a new place to set up shop, I continue to search the internet for similar product. I've come across a couple of shops here in the local area that on their website they have a link for longboard cruisers, which is what I make. Clicking on the link I find the page is empty, saying that they have no product to display. You have no idea how agonizing this is.
