Jake’s Sports Camp

Every camp we have done is not successful without great coaches or counselors and assistant coaches. Most of our coaches are teenagers in our local high community who are about to attend college, the workforce, in high school or about to attend high school who do a great job with our campers. I am very grateful for their willingness and patience with kids who at times can be challenging in a camp environment. Thank you coaches! This year unlike others was really affected by the weather. The rec department of Plaquemines or was outstanding, very accommodating and saw us through 7 inches of rain in a few days! Without , we have no camp! This year we had one of our own from Belle Chasse who is an outstanding gymnasts from LSU Victoria Robert’s come and share with the camp her experiences as an SEC athlete as well as inspire each person to make good choices, work hard and most of all follow Jesus in all that you do and He will direct your path. Also, we want to thank the generous sponsors in the community who donate their resources to make Jake’s Sports Camp a great outlet for the Plaquemines Parish Community such as:

Last, thank you parents for sending your kids to our camp and hope they had a positive athletic experience that will encourage them to move, sweat and have some fun while doing it. I can’t leave out my family and especially my wife who does a lot of what you don’t see to make this camp happen- love you Lori. Of course, we do this all again next year at the same time- the week of Memorial Day

Day 4 in the books and 2026!

Camp 2026

Day 3 in the books with a concentration on hitting. The boys also played a little flag football to add to the list of sports today. Tomorrow is competition day in a variety is sports. We will be inside for our finale as it stormed again today near the field. We are very grateful for recreation department working with us.
