Seems like the profile spoofers are at it again. Here's some great info (read the link for more) :
1) Spoofing is not the same as being hacked. If you're hacked YOUR profile is compromised and you won't have access. If you've been spoofed, someone merely made a copy of your profile.
2) To prevent being spoofed, change your privacy settings for your Friend list. This can be found in the settings, under 'how people find and contact me'. Then click the option to change the visibility of your friend list to 'friends only' or better yet 'only me'
3) Review your friends list for duplicate accounts or people you don't know. Remove anyone who is suspicious.
4) if you get a friend request from someone you're pretty sure you are already friends with. DO NOT ACCEPT. Contact them on via phone, email, or as a last resort Facebook messenger from the account you're already friends with. Ask.
5) once you've determined your friend's account was spoofed, report the fake profile. Then, share this info to help them prevent it from happening in the future.
Having your friend list visible or accepting friend requests from people you don't know opens you up to this.
They copy your profile to gain access to your friend list. Once they friend your friends they will either start asking them for money posing as you, OR they'll spoof their profiles. This is how the cycle continues.

Some of you may not find this relevant to the page, but most likely it’s because you really don’t remember your first Facebook comment as well as you may think.

2020 is quite the year. And we're not quite halfway through it yet.
