Hello! I'm CharLee, one of the owners of Cryptid/Eureka. Here are my first photos at each location. The interior of the building The Eureka Room is in looked very different from how it does now. And Cryptid, well, it was empty. Here's to many more snapshots of good memories!

Almost exactly a year before its launch, Murder Mystery’s verbal game had been finished. This has been a good way to test content and clues. In its original version, there were HEAPS of story that didn’t even come close to making it into the final game (and for good reason).

This little guy needed a shave. (No actual wolves were harmed in the making of this prop)

Contrary to what you might think, our rooms aren’t birthed fully formed and built. No, they’ll go through many stages of growth and development. Often including charts, mock-ups, verbal RPG’s, and hundreds of lists. This is an example of a puzzle web we create to start seeing how things interact with each other. Pretty nifty, yeah?

While making our rooms and experiences, we start with a lot of ideas. Not all of them are winners. And I'm embarrassed to say that not all of these were joke ideas 😅

You think landing a spaceship in under an hour is scary? Try monitoring it. The team at Eureka and Cryptid Escapes is definitely convinced there's ghosts in the buildings. Sometimes they'll just be goofy and make weird noises. But other times, it's a little more annoying. What can you do but ask them nicely to cooperate? 🤷
