Dave has been an active sailmaker for 40 years. He started his career learning the trade from John Staaf and Dave Leech at Staaf sails in Bellingham Wa. in the 80's. Later moving to Maui and working at the R&D loft for Ezzy Sails International where he learned the art of precision sailmaking, building , testing, and modifying windsurfing sails then helping to implement the designs into production

We supplied a full inventory for this Catana 50 which is halfway through its multi year circumnavigation that began in Europe. This is a photo of the install of the main. The main arrived on a pallet! Big project for the little loft. Thank you Thomas and Sylvia and Gute Reise (bon voyage)!

A new creation from Durtek and John Fries design for a Sabre 426 . A nice mix of racing and cruising technology with intended use in short handed sailing situations. Features roller reefing and a weathermax UV cover.

I wish to dispel the persistent rumor of my retirement (which, I admit I’m somewhat responsible for). I’m going to continue to be your local sailmaker for as long as reasonable. It’s been a great run so far, and I still very much enjoy providing sails and service to our local sailing community.

Brianna will soon be teaming up with Bellingham Sails & Repair. After completing her college degree in Seattle, Brianna returned to Bellingham to pursue her career in marine canvas and sailmaking. With experience from two local marine canvas shops and U.K. Sailmakers, she is a well versed craftsperson.
In her spare time you can find her riding her bike, raising her dog Luna, or playing cribbage over a pint of local craft beer.
