Currently Parent Coach Certification® Training is available in 20 countries. AI is hurting our ability to think.

An MIT study found that using AI leaves us more ignorant, yet more certain of our own arguments, reducing our capacity to think even as it leaves us more convinced we are well informed.

Here, researcher and author Minh-Hoang Nguyen argues this is a new kind of brain rot: a literal degradation of our ability to think, and a new form of intellectual cowardice.

Only by allowing ourselves room to be stupid can we reclaim the courage to think for ourselves.

Gloria points out that the tech elite make the most money from tech and push tech on our kids incessantly, yet they are the first ones to limit tech for their own kids! They know too much tech harms development. Sure, they are privileged and easy for them to do. But the overwhelmed, stressed parents who limit tech, know the real privilege is not about money or time. The real privilege is being able to spend time with our kids, and give them more lived experiences rather than virtual ones, leading them to a fulfilling life.

On Tuesday, a coalition of more than 400 researchers, including AI godfathers Yoshua Bengio and Geoffrey Hinton, published an open letter calling for AI and security researchers to collaborate on improving alignment and containment approaches, and aiming to protect critical infrastructure before more incidents of "high-profile security failures" come to fruition.
